I received this on one of the What's App group I am following:

A must watch for people waiting in Express Entry pool.
The video was recorded on May 7, 2016 at Newcomers Canada Fair, held at the Shaw Conference Centre, in Edmonton and the Speaker works for IRCC (CIC).
Highlights :
1) Current draw size is kept low as CIC still has backlogs of paper based PR applications received before Express Entry.
2) The paper based PR application backlogs are expected to be cleared by Sept/ Oct 2016.
3) Once the backlog is cleared, Express Entry will be the only source of Economic stream PR applications.
4) This will result in higher draw size of 2000-2500 ITAs per draw.
5) ITA cut-off scores will "likely drop below 400" to accommodate higher draw size.
Focus on 2 mins clip between 16:30-18:30 for clarification on above points.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaLvLG-6n3k
Note : Even though the speaker works for IRCC, please do not treat this as an official announcement.

Hii regarding this issue..my score is just 66 as my spouse took 1 points for the IELTS coz her score in one band is 4.5.. if applied for WES for her..is that let her have that point? or this only regarding the IELTS?
Thx
Spouse's ECA will not count for FSW points calculation (it will only count towards CRS score), if your spouse has Canadian education, then you will get 5 points for that under FSW. Under FSW, these are the factors which gives you points for Adaptability (maximum 10 points)
- Your spouse or partner’s language level
- Your past study in Canada
- Your spouse or partner’s past study in Canada
- Your past work in Canada
- Your spouse or common-law partner’s past work in Canada
- Arranged Employment in Canada
- Relatives in Canada

Please share your perspective;

The complete info regarding OINP is perplexing to me and I beleive to all on the forum.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

OINP started : June 2015

Quota 2015 : 5500 nominations
Quota 2016 : 5500 nominations
Total 11000 NOM for inland CEC, Outland CEC, FSW for 2015 2016

5600 nominations for CEC, inland, outland nominations
5400 for FSW nominations

The year end IRCC report stated: Out of 2700, OINP issued 871 nominations in 2015. We saw very few NOM from Jan till today?

Most of us are waiting for AOR, NOM. Why the process is so slow as the number of applications are few and large number of NOM are to be issued.

The latest communique from OINP states

NOI will not be issued; stopped since mid feb 2016. In Jan they received 1800 applications.

Seems there is a gap between our understanding of facts and figures and OINP.

My overall score for now is 347.. but after my Bachelor's degree evaluation it will touch around 397.. is this score enough to get an ITA?? If not, how can I increase my CRS?

No this score is not enough to get ITA. You should at least have a CRS score of 450+ (based on the past trend) to get direct ITA.

Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) - If your CRS score does not qualify to receive direct ITA, you should apply for provincial nomination and if the province nominates you, 600 points will be added to your current CRS making you eligible to receive ITA in the subsequent round of invitation.

Check this link, it has the links for each PNP http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/provincial/apply-who.asp.

LMIA Backed Job Offer - Another option to increase your CRS to get ITA is to get a job offer which is LMIA positive. This will add 600 points to your current CRS making you eligible to receive ITA in the subsequent round of invitation.

MISTAKENLY REVOKED MY GC KEY

HELP

Guys I accidentally revoked my GCKEY and I'm not able to login in it.

Will my EE profile also be deleted with it? If so can I create a new profile and is there any way to link the old EE profile.

Also I've sent my application for Ontario PNP on feb 2016 and have also paid the fees for it.

Is there anyways to make it work again?

Thanks

Very much possible, most of the cases are from outside Canada.
Stanley, most PNPs ask for job offers. If one has a job offer one wouldn't need the provincial nomination anymore since one can qualify without it. However, did you get a provincial nomination from outside Canada? Please share

Yes, I agree, if you have a LMIA positive job offer, you do not need PNP. I have got my nomination from Ontario, I am an FSW Outalnd applicant. OINP is the safe bet for many of us as it does not need a job offer to qualify. But OINP is on a temporary pause till November 2016. Till then applicants will have to look out for alternate options. I am not sure about other PNPs, so I shall not be able to comment about it.

The quota for Express Entry is only 2700 (5500 is the sum total of vacancies available under all streams - both Express Entry and non-Express Entry).

So, the quota for 2015 was 2700. 810 nominations were issued but the number of PTs issued would have been way, way more. Most of the applicants who received PTs would have applied for OINP (OINP might not have anticipated this) and hence, they might have received more than required number of applications.

We really do not know the quota for 2016 as it has not yet been formally announced (correct me if I am wrong). Assuming it was same as 2015, then, we have 5400 vacancies under EE (2015 + 2016 quota combined) (This includes both Human Capital Priorities Stream and the French Speaking Skilled Workers Stream). There is no PT system for the latter and hence we do not know how many applicants have applied in the French Speaking Skilled Workers Stream.

If you look at the spreadsheet and check some file numbers, you might get a bigger and richer picture. I applied in November 2015 but my file number was with the 2016 tag (XHSW-1600XXX). My application number was in the late 600s. So, from January 2016 (or even from December) till February 11, 2016, they have issued close to 700 nominations under the 2016 quota.

As you said, we might need to gather a little more facts before we can arrive at any logical conclusions.
