I think i must apply for Pro. nom. now... thts the quickest way.
Yes you should definitely go ahead with provinces, as far as I know Ontario will be opening in May and Quebec in June, there are other's also.
Check out these links , they may offer some help- http://www.ontarioimmigration.ca/en/pnp/
http://www.canadavisa.com/provincial-nomination-program.html
Although information might not be updated sometimes as most of them are closed for now, but you will get a rough idea. I highly recommend professional help if going for pnp as its far easier and convenient.
Don't worry about your file expiring, you can create a bew one immediately after, no issues there.

When I have created EE profile, I have mentioned that I have 3 dependent(Me, My wife and one baby).
But when I filled my profile details , it only asked to fill details of primary applicant and one dependent which is my wife.
I am wondering why it did not ask to fill details for my son

Hi,

Thank you for all the details, appreciate it.

Q1: I did my masters for one year in UK 2007-08 but didn't get any PCC issued. Is it imperative? If yes, how can one do it while being in India?
Q2: Does my spouse require employer reference letters as well?

Thanks.

1. You will have to apply for PCC for you stay in UK. You can apply it online here https://www.acro.police.uk/police_certificates.aspx
2. If your spouse is the co-applicant and if he/she has Canadian work experience and you are claiming points for that experience, then you would need the reference letter for that experience.

Hi,

Can the principal applicant take the IELTS first (lets say 19th May) and submit the application to CIC and the dependent takes the IELTS subsequently in July - can the submitted application be edited / updated with the dependent's score?

What shall be considered as T-0day of filing application - pre edited or after updation?

Thanks

Yes it can definitely be done like this, you can always update your CIC profile to add new test scores, or work experience etc.
But if you are applying in FSW then you should take care that your 67/100 score should not be affected by lack of your dependent's test scores. if this is okay you are good to go. Also book a test date for your dependent ASAP, why waste time. good luck.

OK thank you.

Is IDP Testing for IELTS valid or only British council testing arrangements are considered for FSW?
Both have equal value and complete validity with CIC, no difference at all. IELTS is jointly owned by iDP and British Council, so no issue there. Go ahead and book your test.

The eligibility of the Express Entry profile is based on the information of the primary applicant. In case of the co-applicant, it is not mandatory to have ECA or IELTS. So when you create and submit your Express Entry profile and you are eligible, then your Express Entry profile will be active from that day omwards for a year. You can update your profile with co-applicant's IELTS later; in fact you can update your profile till you get ITA.

IELTS is jointly owned by Cambridge, Britsih Council and IDP. So, there is no difference between British Council IELTS and IDP IELTS. These two entities supervise IELTS tests in many countries. In some countries it is British Council while it is IDP in others and sometimes they can found supervising tests in the same country on the same dates but different venues. I have appeared for both, I do not find any difference between the two and both the times, I got the same score.

Very nice post, clears many doubts. I'm new to the forum, and need one genuine help which no one was able to solve

I need little more clarification on updating education, if anyone can help.

I'm getting 67 points basis my Bcom degree plus work exp post Bcom. So I'll start my application for EE basis that. Now comes the 2nd part. Consider I'm in the CRS pool, but I only have around 435 points(basis my Bcom and work ex). Meanwhile, I clear my Mcom(somewhere in August-16).

Here comes my doubt, I'll now update my education to Masters, to earn more points under CRS, and it'll increase my points to above 450, hence increasing my chances to get selected. Will my work ex be considered? Or they'll decrease my work exp points, as I'll update my profile with Mcom?(The reason being I have no work exp/less than 1yr work exp after MCom)

Hope you get it. Please let me know in case of any confusion. Thanks

(why I'm asking this is that if I start creating my profile with Mcom in Aug-16, I won't get 67 points, as I'm not having work ex after Mcom, so I'm considering creating with BCom, passing MCom meanwhile, and increase CRS points)

The answer to this is simple-

* If the work experience in question is full time, it gets counted, as long as it was accrued in the last 10 years
* If the work experience is part time, and was accrued while studying, it gets counted if you are applying under FSWP, as long as it was accrued in the last 10 years
* If the work experience is part time, and was accrued while studying, it does not get counted if you are applying under CEC
* Internships and employment undertaken to complete academic programs do not get counted

So, your work experience will get counted, since it sounds like you are applying from India, and for the FSWP stream, even after you get your MCOM.

Have you had any of these degrees assessed?

Hi Aragorn,

Yes, I have used the WES Degree Equivalency tool, and the results were as under:

3 years Bachelors(Computer Science) in India is equivalent to 3 years Bachelors in Canada, and
2 years Masters(Computer Science) in India is equivalent to 4 years Bachelors in Canada.

Waiting for someone's concrete reply before investing my money in WES for degree assessment. Hope the answer is "YES"
