Morning people, my wife is a social worker and i was wondering if she has to apply first to college of social workers before applying for express entry, how does that work??
I would advise all of you planning to move to north America to practice social work to change their profession, maybe to nursing. Social work will burn you out. It is like chasing or running from a mad cow on the street. Thou social workers make more money and gain more respect in Canada compared to the US. The prefession is really challenging. In canada you need a lot of experience to get a high paying job in the field. The US have a lot of entering level job. Also in Canada your English most be very good to pratice or past your interview. Experince in mental health and clinical social work is highly needed and has more opportunities. The rural areas have more opportunities for social workers to get a job and start practicing...no one wants to go there...it is too cold or isolated. Provincial residential homes is another good place to work...because their pay are a bit decent. It also depends on the province. It is also very competitive because they employ people with dipolma and certificate.luisandrade1985 said:Morning people, my wife is a social worker and i was wondering if she has to apply first to college of social workers before applying for express entry, how does that work??

I wish you good luck...have you worked as a social worker in North America!eski said:Sorry,I'm i getting you right? You want people to who practice a profession that helps people and makes a difference in society to leave it simply because its demanding??????really??
Im sorry to burst your bubble but anything worth doing in our world today is very very demanding!!!
Canada needs social workers....the more they get....the better canada gets....and the job would progressively be less demanding!!
No i have not. I am a medical doctor. It is also very demanding. Should i discourage people from doing it? ??don't you see that people who have a passion for the job won't see it the way you do? ?and if i may ask. ...please suggest some less demanding jobs please.Kingtochi said:I wish you good luck...have you worked as a social worker in North America!
