Guys, do you happen to know when they resume working after Christmas holidays in CIC?
According to http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/france/offices-bureaux/holidays-conges.aspx?lang=eng
Official holidays for dec 2016 is 26th and 27th, and 2nd Jan 2017.

According to http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/passport/map/holidays.asp
They will be closed for 26th and 27th December. it is safe to assume they will be back to work from 28th December to 30th and resume on 2nd or 3rd of Jan 2017.

Submitted my application on Nov 11th till now no changes... not even medical passed. What can I do ?

Congrats Ash,

I am not sure if there are any international flights landing in Ottawa directly, so you will be probably landing in Toronto as I did during my study Visa and all the formalities are completed over there.
Few of my friends landed in Montreal also during study visa entry. Confirm it while buying your ticket.

Thanks John,
I am currently looking for flights via Toronto with a layover of about 3hrs for the formalities and then an onward flight to Ottawa.

Hello,

While what you mention is correct, it is also true that many people utilize their paid leaves during this time. For instance at my workplace in Toronto, majority of my colleagues have taken vacation offs from 28-30 Dec. Which gives them almost 10~12 days off work. So, I wouldn't expect much to move before 3rd Jan.

Hope it helps!

Hi seniors, my situation is same as managerchap, I submitted my profile on 24 nov, since then no activity, medical status is not needed at this time. Plz suggest

Double check if you have not missed any documents to upload especially related to work, Medical checkup, PCC or educational certificates or degrees

Your BKG check shows Not Started means that your app is probably going through R10, A11.2 and Eligibility checks at CIO and when your BKG status changes to Not Needed then your app will be transferred to Local visa office.

This is quiet helpful flow chart on CIC website:
