Hi all,

I recently submitted my express entry profile. However, it looks like now i wont get an invitation yet since the minimum points are not 75 anymore. My total points are 352 which is very impossible to get an invitation.

Having said so, my work permit is expiring soon in nov and I have an open work permit.

I am afraid to ask, whether if I would be able to renew or extend my work permit.

Thank you for your help
Kind regards,
Ridwaan

First of all, you have to tell us what type of work permit you have and how you got it, then we can give you suggestion on your question.

And I received three years work permit which I applied after my graduation.

You are lucky enough you can extend it. Only because of COVID, otherwise this would be it for you in Canada, at least for the time being.

Read this:

Apply for an open work permit under a public policy - Canada.ca

If you meet the requirements, then you will be able to get an extension.

As @Wolfpmd3 said, you are lucky that there is an active public policy right now, under which you can extend your PGWP for 18 months. During normal times, a PGWP can not be extended.

Hi everyone,
Just now, I received further information from IRCC regarding new LOE from my previous experience. I worked in New Zealand and I claimed points for that job. What to do if that employer does not respond to my emails? Please give suggestions.

However, I am still struggling with my points. I have 352 and I am working as a customer service in call center. Because it was hard to find a full time job in interior decorating.

My last resort is to do the french exams.

Not much you can do there.

IRCC recently updated the CRS section for French. Now having knowledge of French will give you many more points than it did before.

That's certainly a good thing to aim for. It takes time though, plus you'll need to develop a pretty good level of French for this to be a realistic solution.

And for sure, I wouldn't count on the score dropping below 420+ any time soon or ever again.

Well, my guess is that probably there will be another 75 points event later this year, but if that happens it might be well beyond June or July. But I wouldn't hold my breath for it.
