Thanks to all who helped and continue to help answer questions in this confusing labyrinth of information!
Got my PPR along with my Bio data and photographs on the 22nd June.

MettyMyde: think about getting a UK police check done. It took me two weeks doing it online. The paperwork process to convince CIC that you don't need a PCC may take longer than processing the application from the UK. I don't know your circumstances but the less questions CIC need to ask, the quicker you'll get your PR-voice of experience!

Good luck 8)

Hello People

I just got a rejection letter from CIC and feeling soooooo depressed and demoralized :(.

The reason for rejection is that I didn't submit a police clearance certificate for my stay in England during my master's program. Now the reason why I didn't provide a police clearance is that I did not stay in England for up to 6 months at a stretch. I entered UK on 25 Sept, went back home on 17 Nov, got back in 24 Nov, went back home again 12 Dec, got back in 05 Jan, went back home 08 March, went back to UK 01 Apr and then came home on 19 May. The reason why I wasn't stable in UK was that I was expecting a child so I had to be in touch with my doctor at home.

Please can anybody advise me on what to do? Is it possible to re-open an application that was closed for this reason? I'm so confused.

My timelines are as follows:

ITA - 17 April 2015
Application submission - 30 April 2015
Category - FSW from within Canada with CRS of 458
Rejection letter from CIC - 30 June 2015

Sorry to hear that...but don't give up...Send a CSE and explaining your situation and if they do not respond in 30 days then send your case for ADMINISTRATIVE REVIEW explaining your issue in a affidavit.

Metty, the UK PCC is quite quick and easy to get. It can take under a week if you choose the 2 day option and select the courier service.

My advice to you is to request it immediately and the moment you get it, you send a CSE requesting that they reopen your file.

It will be a little pricey but it's worth it.

Thanks for the advice Jaffa and Splashdown. I didn't know it was possible to send a case specific enquiry for an application that has already been rejected. I will open one right away. I have also applied online for the UK police clearance and I should receive it by weekend but how do I send it to CIC? Jaffa please what do you mean by administrative review? Can you shed more light?

Thanks

Upload it with a cover letter outlining what has happened thus far, why you didn't include it and remember to apologise for the misunderstanding and ask for their consideration to re-open the application. Sending the CSE without the PCC won't do much IMO.

Thanks for the advice. You guys are the best. I'd try to stay positive while waiting for the PCC. I'm so worried, sad and frustrated. The letter I got from CIC today states that my application has been cancelled and that I should go back into the pool. For me that's not a good option because my CRS is 458 and I barely managed to get an ITA. Do you think CIC will still accept the PCC using CSE? Is there any hope for me? Thanks.

There's hope for you because other people have been in your situation and are now on their way to PPR. In the interim, comb through your application to make sure that everything else is perfect. If I recall correctly, someone else posted an excerpt from their rejection letter and it said that the reason they gave may not be the only issue they had with the application. It would definitely help if you address in the CSE all the issues the previous application had.

Hello Anya654

See ECAS status below:

1. We received your application for permanent residence on March 28, 2015.
2. Medical results have been received.

Thanks for that but I meant the main ecas page when you logged in ie the one you click on that takes you to the three lines you posted, was it Application Received or In Process? In the meantime also create another profile while sending the CSE in case you get accepted into the pool again. Just 2 keep your options open.
