Hello PPL,

There seems to be some confusion on what is AOR. There are 2 options

A notice (Electronic receipt of APR) is automatically issued to the applicants on receipt of their electronic application submission. This notice indicates the following: “Your application is being checked to determine whether it meets the requirements of a complete application pursuant to section 10 and section 12.01 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations.” This notice cannot be used to support a BOWP, as it does not reflect that the applicant has received a “positive eligibility assessment” as required for a BOWP.

A letter (Acknowledgement of Receipt) is issued to the applicants once their application has passed a completeness check. This letter indicates the following: “CIC has reviewed your application and determined that it meets the requirements of a complete application as described in section 10 and section 12.01 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations.” This is the official Acknowledgement of Receipt letter and it may be used to support a BOWP if all other requirements are met.

Is it the first or second that all of you have received?

I have just received the first.

BTW, I received 1st AOR only.

I believe most of them who submitted their eAPRs after April 15th (not everyone though) might have got the 2 AORs. Very very few of those who submitted before the above date got their 2nd AORs too. I guess they were sending the 2nd AORs for those who were already in Canada and closer to their expiry date of the WPs and needs to apply for BOWPs. I am might wrong too but this could have happened as not everyone is receive them.

Did you mean submit it after April 15th...I submitted mine on May 4th and haven't received the 2nd AOR yet.

Neither did I (submitted May 1st), I don't think they issue a 2nd AOR as standard, only a small number of people seem to have received them

I've rceeived both.

Did you submit your application on June 2nd iceberg, and you've received the 2nd AOR confirming a complete application already??? When did you get your ITA? Thanks

You are right and that is what I mean. If you got a 2nd AOR means you're good and wait for your PPR while relaxing. This does not mean that the other will not get their PPRs. The 2nd AOR rule came in few weeks ago and they were stream lining the applications. So at this time we cannot project any pattern but trying to understand the trends and no need to worry on the trends. Someone, said before here the exact phrase "CIC is Consistently Inconsistent with EE Process".

Amen to that!

Could you tell me what I would need to apply for the bridging work permit?

Thanks

I never got the 2nd AOR but got my BOWP approved on May 19th.
I will assume my BOWP have the same value as the 2nd AOR as for application completeness, and will try to wait for my PPR while "relaxing" (as if there was a way to be relaxed when comes to CIC unpredictability ???)

I am seeing everyone having their ECAS updated with correct dates, mine is still with the profile creation date :(

Guys, I hope this month of June be of good news for us all, if not for all, for most. Cuz from January to now it's been only affliction (PGWP's expiring, scarce ITA's, lots of rejections, document upload issues, etc etc...)

Hoping for a month of smooth processing and good news ;D

I agree with Jaffa, CIC is notorious being inconsistent. Nobody can reassure you that you are not going to be rejected. I read a comment by a member that cancellation are going down, but on contrary according to this thread http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/any-applicant-got-cancelled-and-submitted-a-case-specific-inquiry-lets-connect-t290316.0.html. Few cancellation in May happened. CIC unpredictable as always.

So far from my reading: application received doesn't mean that you have a complete application - few members got rejected for missing docs with this status in ECaS. also your background changing to in progress doesn't mean that you are immune from rejection. one member at least got rejected.

I think we should just hope for the best, but also prepare for rejection to avoid disappointment, I have. I have been waiting for 2 month now, my medical has changed to pass and thats it.

All the best to all who are waiting.

Interesting analysis!

Do you recall,

1. If ALL of these cancellations were the ones that happened in late April/early May OR some happened recently as well?

2. Who got rejected with Background check status as "In Progress"?

3. Which members got rejected with "Application Received" status in ECAS?

If you do know these, please share. Will be very useful. Thanks!

Some happened late May, yes BG check was in progress for 3 members at least. all these members has application received. amadabu colorblind AAlhadka

By the way I am identical to your status - Same ITA, AOR ... and status.

Depressing start to a weekend and Week 6 of no updates if your analysis is correct. :(

I was under the impression that,

1. If one gets ECAS access itself (let alone status change from In Process to Application Received) that implies that the application has been hosted on GCMS which only happens if preliminary document checks are positive. Else one gets document request or straight rejection if one is unlucky.

2. Background check moving from "Not Needed" to "Not Started" implies that the application has now moved to local VO for people applying from outside Canada.

Do these assumptions seem right?
