Depressing start to a weekend and Week 6 of no updates if your analysis is correct.

I was under the impression that,

1. If one gets ECAS access itself (let alone status change from In Process to Application Received) that implies that the application has been hosted on GCMS which only happens if preliminary document checks are positive. Else one gets document request or straight rejection if one is unlucky.

2. Background check moving from "Not Needed" to "Not Started" implies that the application has now moved to local VO for people applying from outside Canada.

Do these assumptions seem right?

I have stopped the guessing game to be frank with you. Unless you haven't got passport request, assume anything can happen ... but in regards to number one if you are asking that once you have ECAS status your documents are complete .. not true...check the thread I gave

I dont know change from not needed to not started means. I have the same status and I am applying from inside Canada.

Legally, that should be fine. But it is always better you get it done asap. I would recommend you get appointment at service canada office or do a flag pole. If you are not planning anything, yes it is possible to become PR on your re-entry to Canada from India.

After i get my passport back .In service canada i will inform that I got COPR recently and I want to do remaining formalities ....I think they might help me with that, If im right?

krishna my passport reached ottawa 1 june do u have any idea when cic dispatch will dispatch i want to go to vacation to india

Did you submit your application on June 2nd iceberg, and you've received the 2nd AOR confirming a complete application already??? When did you get your ITA? Thanks

Hi conor9900 sorry its my bad , wrong display. I was going to type in diffrent place. I haven't receive 2nd AOR which confirm that application passed. Its too early for me to get final decision. I received doc req on June 2nd the day I have submitted application and my ECAS is in 3 lines now.

Anyone who applied under the FSW and; applied for the BOWP without the 2nd AOR, received their work permit?

I believe most of them who submitted their eAPRs after April 15th (not everyone though) might have got the 2 AORs. Very very few of those who submitted before the above date got their 2nd AORs too. I guess they were sending the 2nd AORs for those who were already in Canada and closer to their expiry date of the WPs and needs to apply for BOWPs. I am might wrong too but this could have happened as not everyone is receive them.

I submitted my application on 27 April, received 1st AOR same day and 21 May received second AOR where it states that if I meet other requirements, I can use for BOWP even though i don't need it cos I applied outside of Canada.

Few days later I got PPR.

hopefully we would really know the flow of CIC.. what works for A isn't same for B.

Righteous you got your PPR within 1 month of submitting your application? Congrats, sounds like you got the only hard working VO in the whole of CIC

Quite interesting I must say and I am really thankful to God for that . I may have gotten it earlier if they didn't request for some docs (schedule A, 3 and additional family info) which i submitted 2 days after the request letter came in.

Lets hope it works out well for everyone else too.

Happens all the time. We've figured that they love messing with us from time to time and these messages don't mean anything at all.

Actually received a mail on Tuesday that my application has been updated. logged on to myCIC and didn't find anything. Tried a couple of times and still no update.
