PPR (Passport Request) is given by CIC, if your application for Permanent Residence is approved.

You need to apply first
cic will review your application
if you pass all the hurdles in btw
you will get PPR.

What is your current ECAS status?

RCMP request may not be requested for everyone. CIC will send this request based on the sample criminal record check they do it on their criminal database. If they see any flags then they ask you to submit the RCMP fingerprints to clarify that you're clean you are not the one whom it flagged earlier. This may not be requested for those who never visited Canada. Good Luck, Don't panic..Your day may come soon like everyone does here. Good Luck!!

I have applied and received a receipt of my application.
I have had my medical as passed and my background check in process.

Would an email from cic asking to upload my passport be considered at PPR?

I just stumbled upon this forum today :/ please excuse my novice questions

You only get this PassPort Request only if you're from a Non-Visa exempted Country, otherwise, you will get a Bio-Data copy. Experts, add here if anything else is requested apart from Bio-Data form.

@EricCartman, nope, you're mistaken..This is the Request from CIC in your MyCIC account for your Physical PassPort to get the PR stamp on it if you're from a Non-Visa exempt Countries. If you're from UK or US etc (citizens) then you won't get this.

No, PPR means asking for your passport with bio-data in mail so that CIC can stamp the temporary visa stamp which will let you get the final PR stamp in your passport at a Canadian border.

PPR is issued after everything is cleared and they have decided to issue PR

This will happen only if you are from a non-visa exempt country i.e. if you need visa to come to Canada

Submitted application and got AOR 25 April... medical still :not needed...
Is anybody in the same status?
Ecas 2 lines

When we can check the medical status?

So what is the final step if you are from a visa-exempt country Dragonsky, do they not request your passport in that case? Thanks

They still need the BioData form and then you will have to do country out and in at a Canadian border where the actual PR stamp would be placed in your passport

Experts please correct me if I am wrong

Nope, this is kinda missing document to start processing your application.

@trricky, Did you check with Doctor that he uploaded the emedicals? Sometimes Doctors give this to their assistants and they were so lazy and will miss some information. So, send a Case Specific Enquiry asking whether they have received your Medicals or not. If they have then they will update your file and otherwise they will say if there is an issue with the uploaded documents from the doctor.

what's the overall status? Application Received or In Process?

What's the difference between the two and which should come first..? Before my medical results changed to "passed" and BG check changed to "in progress", my ECAS status was "In Process". After that and until now, it's "Application Received". It's been 33 days since that update.
