^^ This is a solid theory that might help explain the switches in BG check status:

"Not needed at this time" means that your BG check went to the next stage. "Not started" means your application has not been accessed by officer yet. "In progress" means your application is started and CIO is checking the provided docs. At this time your meds are passed, criminality/RCMP screening and biographic (if applicable) are in progress. When it changes to "not needed" it means your criminality is completed, RCMP and biographic is completed, security check and eligibility is in progress and coming soon. When your last BG check stage is going to be completed (security passed) it will go back to "in progress" (though it might never gonna change since now) and your secondary visa office will start the final decision based on eligibility. After short period of time you will get your results.

Again it could be, but this is totally random as well. I have received PPR and from multiple notes I know at one point eligibility and criminality passed and security was in progress. Still background remained "in progress" throughout and hasn't changed even now - after ppr where even passports have been received in Ottawa.

2nd Background check : in progress
3rd Background check : not needed this time for 16 days
4th Just 2 days ago : Background check went back in progress.

Did this happen to any one of you

hello guys

I hv applied for PR online e-App through EE on 19th jan 2016 after getting SINP nomination on 25th dec 2015 & ITA on 6th jan 2016. Then I hv submit the schedule 4 form on 22nd jan. the last status update was on 30th jan 2016 showing medical status passed. And then no update till date.

App submitted : 19th Jan 2016
AOR recieved : 20th Jan 2016
Schedule 4 required : 21st Jan
Document Submitted : 22nd Jan
Medical Passed : 30 Jan 2016

Now What next

Is everything all right or how much more time it will take.

Can anyone suggest me what would be the next update after this and related to what?

And the status on more documents needed is provided. What it exactly means?

Do I need to send hard copy of documents and application to CIC in case of SINP through EE sub-category skilled worker.


How would one can know about his visa office ? I mean which visa office is processing my application.

If i get married during processing now can i add my spouse within this application since a seperate spouse application shall take hell long to process further?
If not suggest some other ways since i need to take my spouse with me.

Well, my application has survived 2 weeks. Status in my signature. I know there is still a long way to go though.

Unless you give your timeline details it is difficult to understand anything. Usually, this situation occurs two times. Once after clearing medical and just before PPR (but not necessary in all cases). Best luck.

You can get married and update cic immediately. once you will inform, you will get notification to update your spouse documents in your account.Yes, process time will increase as mine is increased.
