Hello eppadi irukingha Raja. Unngoloda EE nutshell thread'la discussion panni iruken. Rombha lengthy'a ezhuthirupen.

Below information for your reference.
I could see following information in my express entry profile details
Federal Skilled worker - Met
PNP - Not met
Canadian Experience Class - Met
Federal Skilled Trades - Not Met

Today, I got a letter of invitation from CIC stating that based on the information you provided us in your EE profile, we are pleased to invite you to apply for permanent residence under the Federal skilled workers (FSW). My invitation is valid for 60 days.

I was expecting that I would be called in CEC but I received an invitation from FSW.

Ennaku silla doubts iruku FSW work experience'la http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who.asp

In the above link they mentioned, that my work experience must be
1) at least 1 year (1560hrs total or 30hrs/week)
2) Continuous full time or an equal amount in part time
3) within the last 10 years
4) at skill type 0 or skill levels A or B
5) in the same job (what do they mean here?)

- Is it Canadian or Foreign experience?
- Previously I asked you a question that I worked in a contract for 5 months. You told me that I cannot use that contract (self-employed) experience for my CEC. But do they consider that self-employed as a experience for FSW?
Can I call you?

Got their reply rather quickly, and this is what they said :(

Good day,
Thank you for your interest in the NOC.

The Federal Skilled Workers Program is the responsibility of the Department of Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC). To consult the list of occupations available, please visit the following Web site at: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/index.asp#eligible

CIC is the department responsible for all information and applications for visas and work permits (immigrant, visitor, student, worker, refugee, etc.). To begin your research, you need to visit Citizenship and Immigration Canada's (CIC) Web site at: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/index.asp.
You may also visit CIC’s new interactive web tool http://www.cic.gc.ca/app/ctcvac/english/index?utm_source=short-url&utm_medium=short-url&utm_campaign=come-to-canada. Based on your answers to the quick questionnaire, the system will direct you to the appropriate program in which you can apply to immigrate to Canada.
You will be required to complete a variety of documentation throughout your application process. Please visit the CIC website to choose the appropriate documentation relevant to you. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/index.asp#outside.
If your job is extended or changes, you must apply to extend or change the conditions of your existing work permit before it expires. If you are offered a different job in Canada, you must apply for a new work permit. For more information, please visit the following Web site: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/extend-stay.asp.
The processing fees are set by CIC regulations and are the same around the world. Please visit the following link: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/index.asp in order to find a Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) office near you.

FINDING JOB AND NOC CODE
Once you have a better understanding of the application process to come to Canada, please visit the Job Bank Web site at http://www.jobbank.gc.ca and conduct a career search to determine your National Occupational Classification (NOC) 4-digit code.
In the right hand “Explore careers” menu, click on “Occupation”. In the text box on the following page, enter the job title or keywords; in the second text box enter a Canadian city where you would like to work. The education and job requirements tab will give you information pertaining to the entry requirements need to perform the duties of the occupation and the outlook tab will give you information on forecasted demands on the occupation searched.
Please note, in Canada, it is the individuals’ responsibility to find their own job. There are a number of job search tools, such as Job Bank, to assist you. You can expand your job search by visiting the “Other Job Sites” section of Canada's Job Bank at: http://archive.jobbank.gc.ca/othsite-eng.aspx
We hope this information is helpful. Thank you for contacting the NOC and have a nice day.

The following is for CEC -

Minimum requirements

You must:

have at least 12 months of full-time (or an equal amount in part-time) skilled work experience in Canada in the three years before you apply,
have gained your experience in Canada with the proper authorization,
meet the required language levels needed for your job for each language ability (speaking, reading, writing and listening),
plan to live outside the province of Quebec.

Self-employment and work experience gained while you were a full-time student (for example, on a co-op work term) does not count under this program.

Note: The province of Quebec does not use Express Entry. They select their own skilled workers. See Quebec-selected skilled workers to find out more.

Link ---> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/cec/apply-who.asp
The following is for FSW -

Minimum requirements
Skilled work experience

Your work experience must be:

at least one year (1,560 hours total / 30 hours per week), continuous full-time or an equal amount in part-time,
paid work (volunteer work, unpaid internships do not count),
in the same job,
within the last 10 years, and
at skill type 0, or skill levels A or B of the 2011 National Occupational Classification (NOC).

Full Time

30 hours/week for 12 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
Part time

15 hours/week for 24 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
OR
30 hours/week for 12 months at more than one job = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)

You must show that you did the duties set out in the lead statement of the occupational description in the NOC, including all the essential duties and most of the main duties listed.

If you cannot show that your work experience meets the description in the NOC, you are not eligible under this program.

1) To apply under CEC, you need to have at least 1 year Canadian work experience in the past 3 years. This experience can be broken (need not be continuous).
2) To apply under FSW, you need to have at least 1 year, continuous work experience in the past 10 years. If you have at the aforementioned experience, you can count other jobs under other NOCs towards your CRS points.

    Dear Raja,

Sorry for explaining it in detail. I am afraid that misrepresentation of any information could lead to ban of 5 years from applying PR. That's why I need more clarifications. I have 3 continuous years (2008-2011) of work experience as a software engineer at TCS (India) in the past 10 years. I believe the 3 yrs of exp at TCS is the reason for CIC to invite me to apply for PR under FSW category instead of CEC. Is my understanding correct?

    Language - 21/28 (Speaking 6.5, Listening-7, Reading -7, Writing -7)
Education - 23/25 (Masters at Canada, Bachelors at India)
Abroad Experience - 11/15 ( 3 years continuous experience at TCS in India)
    Age - 12/12
    Arranged employment-0/10
    Adaptability -10/10
    Total - 77/100

I found this link from Q&A http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1132&top=29. Pasted the content for ur suggestions.

I have been working in Canada for the last six months but didn’t get points for work experience. Why not?
Under the Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), to be awarded points for skilled work experience, you must have been:
    • legally allowed to work in Canada in one or more jobs listed in Skill Type 0 or Skill Level A or B of the National Occupational Classification; Systems engineer
    • working full-time (or an equal amount in part-time), meaning 30 hours of work per week, Worked 40-45 hours per week
    • working for at least one year in the 10-year period before the day we assign you points. Worked for 3 years continuously at TCS

We do not count work experience if you were:
    • studying full-time while you were working,
    • self-employed, or
    • not legally allowed to work in Canada
Please note: Work experience does not need to be continuous to get points under the CRS. But, to qualify under the Federal Skilled Worker Program, you must have at least one year of continuous full-time paid work experience, either in Canada or abroad. As you mentioned earlier and according to the above note, CIC will consider my Canadian work experience for CRS points in the following manner

    Job1 : Aug2015 till date (900 hrs)
    Job2 : Mar2015 to Jul2015 (800 hrs) - self employed
    Job3 : Mar2015 to July2015 (360 hrs)
Job4 : Sep2011 to Dec2014 (1600 hrs of Teaching assistant and research assistant part-time continuously)

Does CIC consider self employed experience for FSW or CRS points?
Kindly refer this link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=855&top=29. Does CIC consider continuous TA and RA experience for FSW or CRS points?

As per the ITA, I received the below components.
    Age-100
    Education-126
    First Language (new IELTs)-96
    Second Language -0
Canadian work experience - 35 (How I would have received 35 points without considering self-employed or TA&RA?)
    Spouse education - 10
    Spouse First Language -16
Spouse Canadian work Exp - 0
    Skill Transferability- Education -50
Skill Transferability - Foreign Work Experience - 50
    Total points score -483
