Hey Andre congrats!andre3000 said:@ Tishfaith or Nyla....which courier did you use to submit your passport and supporting documents? Also, what arrangement will I need to make for the passport to be returned?
Many thanks yardflexxyardflexx said:Hey Andre congrats!
I used DHL to send the passport to the Trinidad VO. I had to include a prepaid envelope for the passports to be returned, these instructions were in the PPR letter.
Did your PPR provide any details on passport delivery?
Canada's rules are what matters, not Jamaica's. As long as you can support your claim of living together for at least 12 months then your will be ok. Every couple us different so there's no wrong or right way to prove your common law status. Include anything you have including pics, mail addressed to both of you at the same address, bills anything. We even showed our price mart membership cards.Nicotugz said:Just need some advice with providing documentation regarding my Common-law partner in Jamaica
She tried for a visa but it was denied my name wasn't on the application as in Jamaica it takes 5 years to be considered common law while in Canada it's 1 year.
I don't know if this is bad but I would like to know if anyone can assist with this in case a problem does arises after an ITA is issued so i am not immediately turned down.
I she is on my insurance and we have a joint account is this enough? I saw the common law declaration, do we need like pictures together?

Thanks Nyla!Nyla said:Congrats andre3000!!
I used DHL too. The embassy ended up losing my photos and so I had to drive to deliver new ones and just collected the passports at the same time which worked out good for me.
All the best
If you receive an ITA under a provincial nominee programme you have to move to the province that nominated you. Otherwise, you can go to a province of your choice.Nuff_Love said:Hi All,
I hope every1 is doing well. When filling out the EE profile is it okay to select more than one province?
What if I get ITA for Ontario can I move to another province after I receive the Permanent residence?
Looking forward for your feedbacks.
Have a blessed day.
Sweet thanks much for that.ButterflyChemist said:Canada's rules are what matters, not Jamaica's. As long as you can support your claim of living together for at least 12 months then your will be ok. IF you get married there is no time frame requirement but they might question whether the marriage is one of convenience i.e for immigration purposes only. You may have to show pics from your wedding and reception and stuff like thatNicotugz said:Sweet thanks much for that.
One more thing is there like a "time frame" if we were to get married? Like do we have to prove that yea we have been together for a long while?
Respect on the answers!!
