Congrats! When do you plan on landing?

I plan on landing in March, 7.

Guys,

I'm guessing all of you have done the upfront medicals, right?

I've read that on the upfront system does not have a category Permanent Resident and that we should pick Family Class, as WORKER is a temporary resident ... is that correct?

Thanks.

Guys,

Another question, my wife and I have a common law relationship... Are any of you in the same boat? If so how did you proceed with form IMM5409E.pdf - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5409E.pdf

I'm worried that I can only say YES for ONE of the questions 1 and ONE of the questions 2...

Thanks!

Hey Guys,

good to know about everything that is happening to you all.

I am having problems with the IELTS test as I am trying to reach a band 7 on speaking. I already took the test twice and the last one was S6 L9 R9 W7.5 . I really need this 7 to reach 420 CRS points and still have hopes of receiving a nomination from Ontario (if it reopens having the same criteria 2016). I will retake the test hoping to reach a higher mark.

In June I will be concluding my Project Management MBA course, which will give me more points and if the IELTS goes OK I will be at around 450 CRS points. I have decided that I will not wait for that, I will be going to Canada in August/2017 as a International Student to study Construction Management (I am a Civil Engineer) at Conestoga College (Kitchener): this is a 1,5 years program, so I can apply to PGWP after the course.

As I am going with my wife, after a few months there my wife will also take the IELTS test. I hope that I can reach the cutoff pontuation within the next two years.

Peace and luck to you all.

I recommend taking CELPIP once you are in Canada. The test is easier than IELTS, cheaper and computer based. The best thing: it takes only 3 hours, so it's quick and effective.

Good luck!

Cheers!

Galera, uma ajuda, quando vocês fizeram os MEDICALS aqui no Brasil, foram como "EDE Family" ou "Non-EDE Worker"?

Since they did not have an option for EE FSW Upfront my wife and I went with "Non-EDE Worker".

It did work fine.

Thanks man! I was toldo to select FAMILY as WORKER is a temp position, but I think they've corrected that as 99% of the people this year have selected Non-EDE Worker. I'll do that as well!

Guys really appreciate your help... have any of you done the PR process as common law (União Estável)?

The form IMM5409E.PDF requires witness notarization, where can I get this done in São Paulo? In theory this is different from our traditional AUTENTICAÇÃO de FIRMA....

Thank you!

Thanks but I ended up writing to the consulate who initially told me not to worry about this and the went on to say anyone can be a. Witness so Ill get my translator to do it.

Hey Guys,
how are you all doing?

I finally got a CLB 9 for my IELTS test. I took the test at Dec 10th and received the results last friday. I was afraid that I was not going to reach good marks because I had some trouble with the writing and listening, but at the end the results were just what I needed. L8 R9 S7 W7 :D :D :D.

I am now sitting at 414 CRS points. Hopefully OINP will reopen with a similar criteria as 2016 ;D.

Meanwhile, I will be applying for Study Permit in the beggining of 2017 as I am going to Canada (Ontario) in August/2017. I will take a post-grad program on construction management. I am just deciding which college. In June I will conclude my MBA course which will give me more points and when we get to Canada my wife will take the CELPIP test. Also in January I will start studying French to pursue more points once I get there. I am hoping that by the end of 2017 I can be at somewhere between 465 - 475 CRS points.

Do you guys know if my Study Permit can be denied if I am in the express entry pool? ???

Thanks to you all!

Good luck!

Hi, g126!
I am also in a common law relationship and I have the same doubt the declaration IMM5409E.PDF.
When you got your translator to sign the common law declaration, which option did you choose:
- notary public,
- commissioner of oaths;
- commissioner of taking affidavits ?

Thanks!!

Happy new year to everyone!
