Hello,
This new system of points looks unfair.
I honestly do not agree the spouse's points to be added to the total points an applicant can obtain. This brings a detriment to the single applicants that might integrate better to the social and economic life of Canada. The single applicants are usually younger than married ones and the younger generation might not have the N years of work experience but they might have had better education and skills than the older applicants. And, as a single person, he/she might even marry with someone that is already in Canada...again, easier to integrate single people than married ones.

I am an expatriate myself and I see that married people tend to be little more isolated that the single ones, they prefer to spend the time with the family (which I understand), they don't go out so much, they still continue to live in their world instead of adapting to the new one.

So, it is totally unfair for a single applicant, with a degree in IT for example( Bachelor or Master), with 3-5 years of work experience, to have less points just because he/she is not married.
Pray, how the spouse will help the principal applicant to integrate to the work market from Canada? Why her language skills should be added?

I am a single applicant, with 10 years experience in IT, both in my country and outside my country ( I have been working for European Commission and European Parliament), I have good IELTS results, I talk 4 languages and I am not very old :) but still, I lack points because I am not married.

Again, to me it doesn't look fair and I am frustrated because of this. What, should I marry now??!

I hope what I wrote did not offended anybody.

Anca

Dont worry as a single applicant I am scoring 397 points and with my spouse I m scoring 390! yes 390, 7 points less. so cheer up you are advantage as single applicant

It's the same for me. I get 10 points less with spouse too! Even if she has IELTS band 7 and a Bachelor's degree.

Hi All,

I guess there would be many like me who are FSW 14 rejects ..

Under the CRS I score 480 odd points as of now ... TO see where we stand I have created a simple spreadsheet.

Please access it using the following link and enter your score. Please use it as your signature to have more and more people enter in it.

Great link!

For those of you that think Canada will stop calling people without a job offer, look at these numbers:

- 47,000 to 51,000 will come through the federal skilled worker class and the federal skilled trades class combined.
- 21,000 to 23,000 skilled workers through the Canadian experience class.

That's twice almost twice as much as FSW. FSW + FST = 30k applicants.

Hello everyone,

It seems that EE is more complicated or I would say it's time consuming yet processing is way faster than the old procedures. Btw, I have some questions:

1. I have job offer letter and also a provincial nominee in fact my application is ready to send to cic for PR applications and also my work permit application is already submitted. Do u think it is better to wait till EE will open on 1st of Jan 2015 and apply under express entry or mch better if i will mail my pr application before 2015?
2. My wife dont have Ielts yet, is it necessary or required for her to have ielts? Before Cic will accept our applications?

3. Is ECA required?

Thanks for the inputs.
