Hi,

My husband and I recently had our first attempt at applying for permanent residency sent back, as we need to have a 'certificate of qualification' as an electrician from the Ontario College of Trades, or a job offer. Both are in the pipe line as we speak.

Should we wait until January to re-send our application again, despite maybe being able to send it beforehand if the job or certificate appear sooner? Is there a special address to send it to? Last time we sent it to the CIC in Nova Scotia.

Many thanks,

Alix

Hi,
I am planning to apply for the permanent residency of Canada under the Express Entry catergory. At this stage, I have a question, answer of which I need to know the answer.
Will I need to have my Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) done for Expressed Category as well?
I will very much appreciate if anyone can help me answering this question.
Thanks in advance.

Express Entry(EE) is a new system to be adopted and as such everybody is waiting for the criteria that will be set to participate in the prog.
Hopefully,on or before December,we will all know the requirements.
All the best

Hello guys,

I am a new one here and want to know your opinions regarding PREPARATION for Express Entry system .

What exactly it means in terms of documentation ?
Will it be similar to the current FSWP documentation?
Are the applicants required to get their education credential assessed?

Any other opinions?

Regards
Kings

Whilst we all r waiting for an update on document requirements, we can easily guess that to secure a job in Canada, we need to prove equalency of our degrees wrt Canadian system. Hence it's better to obtain the same in advance since it is a time consuming process.

Dear Alix

Express entry program has a lot of uncertainties. If you feel you have a better chance with the current system, then I'll advocate for not withholding your application.

I too intend to send my application before the end of this month, despite knowing about the promise of faster processing times. This is just my opinion, make your own choice.

Cheers

Not much change. Employer has to get LMO for applicants in the pool. No LMO- no job offer. So, nothing will be changed there.

Oh. Thanks for correction. I thought government would change things to encourage employers to hire through job bank. Let's see how things progress

I had attended a conference arranged by Skills International. It was marketed as Canada Jobs 2015. Here's the link http://www.canadajobs2015.com/. Their fee was a bit on a higher side for me $9000 but they were promising a job before entering Canada ; which is the model of Express Entry program.

I'm not there representative or vouching for them. Please use your own judgement.

Well, they do not PROMISE the job. They will help you getting the interview calls and all by directly dealing with perspective employers.

Yes I concur with u. They are not guaranteeing a job but provide an interview opportunity.

You said promise before. So $9000 for setting up some meetings :o :o :o

That is ridiculous, steer clesr. Canadian employers are not stupid, and this has the potential of fraud written all over it.
