Dear all,

For the immigration purpose, I will be leaving for canada in S-1 (student) visa and my spouse is leaving with me in V-1 (visitor) visa. Will my wife be permitted to work? She has valid visa for two years, multiple entry. I am surprised she is not treated as my dependent but a visitor. I will appreciate your responses!!

Best wishes,

Hello!

I am planning to apply for my study permit this coming October. Just like you I also have dependents (husband and 9 month-old daughter). May i know how you processed your wife's application? Did you file it separately? Please provide advice so I may know how to proceed.

Thank you so much!

Your wife is not allowed to work on a visitor's visa. Only when in possession of a work permit can your wife start working.
