Expires work permit and cerb

Hi all,
My work permit expired on March 31,2020. My employer was going to help me get a closed work permit once my CSQ arrived (it finally arrived March 16) but I was immediately laid off (March 18th) due to covid-19 and so we could not apply for the new closed permit. My question is am I eligible for CERB payments after the expiration of my work permit or would I have to pay it back? For reference I am also submitting my PR QSW paperwork by the end of the month.

No you don’t qualify after your work permit expires. Did you change your status to visitor before you WP ended?

If I was on cerb before my OWP expired in 2020, then I was on visitor status for few months. Now I received a new owp and same SIN number, can I apply for cerb again?

Correction: CRB not cerb
