You can only apply for a bridging open work permit if you have a valid work permit. You cannot apply for a BOWP from a visitor visa or from implied status. You need a valid work permit.Hhh466 said:Same situation applied to me. Work permit expired this month and got an ITA this month too. Right now im under implied status as a visitor and I will be applying for a bridging work permit once I get my AOR after submitting my application.
I feel as if lawyers are still not experts on Express Entry. As a visitor then are you able to apply for a work permit once you get AOR? Application may have to be sent to an office outside Canada I'm guessing? Or will I just have to wait to become an actualy PR before I can start working again? Thanks.scylla said:You can only apply for a bridging open work permit if you have a valid work permit. You cannot apply for a BOWP from a visitor visa or from implied status. If you are eligible for a work permit, you can apply any time. You are not eligible for a BOWP anymore since your work permit expired, the AOR does not change this.

That may be the case, unless you are eligible for a TWP (e.g. have LMIA) or through some other means. But you are no longer eligible for the BOWP, unfortunately.
