Is it enough if my friend shows the border officer her Passport, expired PR Card & the Record of Landing document?

Thank you

Further to my queries above , my friend will be traveling by a transit bus from US to Canada, will there be a problem at the border? I just read this link and I am in doubt now.

No one can tell or guarantee what will happen at the border. It all depends on the CBSA agent. The agent may play hardball or may be in a let it slide mood. You take your chance on the day when you travel without a valid PR Card. However if its the case her PR Card has been renewed on the premise she meets the Residence Obligation then unless the CBSA agent at the border finds otherwise she should be ok.

I called the Canadian Border Agency with a similar case. They said I could show my Record of Landing (IMM 1000) and/or Permanent Resident Documents and preferably a receipt that proofs you are currently renewing your PR card.

Cheers!
