I recieved my update letter in Oct 2008 with 90 day deadline.
My deadline expired in Jan 2009.
Due to some reasons I submitted my update documents in 1st week April 2009(without ielts). I mentioned in my coverletter that I'll be taking IELTS soon and attached the IELTS registration with exam date mentioned on it.
Since I was sure of rejection and there was nothing to lose I submitted these docs.

In 3rd week of April CIC had encashed the payment towards processing fee of my additional dependant child which was mentioned in my update docs.
In the last week of April, cic updated my address on ecas and my status shows in process.

What do the have the experts say on this....am I still in race or rejection in inevitable.

(I guess, "Whatever the reason was/were", seem(s) to have worked). Keep your fingers crossed!!!

Hi i applied in 2004 as skilled F worker from India
I recieved my update letter in july 2008 with 90 day deadline.
My deadline expired 2nd of oct 2008.
i submitte all the documents on given date except Ielts at that time i was not able to take the test date . I send medical certificate of high fever along with other documents to embassey after that i gave test nov i got 5.5 band i send it to embassey then i again appear i got 6 band i submitte that certificate by courier in Dec.2008. on line my status is IN PROCESS till date i haven,t any response from them. so can any body have the same experience please tell is there is any chances for rejection.or how long it will take to clear visa when will they ask me to submitte medical. Please reply all the senior members.

If your ecas is still "in process" may be you have escaped too..
I'm in the same boat.
My friend had a similar situation like me. He did'nt send the update docs while I did submit them..though very late as i thought there was nothing to loose in submitting them.
He got "Decision made" on ecas, while my new address was updated and DD encashed and ecs is in process.

My friend is biting his nails now....at least he should have submitted the docs.

I also applied in 2004 New Delhi and updated documents around the same time as you and so far nothing has been heard from CHC New Delhi. It seems that they have dealt with 2003 cases and so far no one from 2004 seems to have received any response.

We had received our file no on 24 Sept 2004 & in Mid of Oct 2008 , We'd sent all the docs required by CHC , New Delhi. But still waiting for final lap.

I've read some where that the cases applied before Feb 2008 will be treated in previous assessment & processing rules.

So lets cross the fingers and wait for new HOPE.
