Hello guys,

My wife's PR and Passport expiring in September 2016. And also she wants to change her name officially. So which one we should do first? Is there any order that is best for us to do it?

Just want to know expert opinion before going with renewal.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not an expert :p, but common-sense would suggest changing her name first makes a lot more sense.

For us, renewing her passport with her new family name constituted "officially" changing her name. Do the passport first, and then PR card.

(Of course she could do other documents such as driver's license if she has one, perhaps Health Card, bank statements, etc.)
