Hey everyone.
I got my WHV approved, however I read you'll still be asked a lot of questions and will have to satisfy border personel when you arrive in Canada before you actually get one .
This would include proving you have sufficient funds to sustain yourself for the first months, that you have ties that will satisfy them with enough likelyhood that you'll return to your country of origin.
Does anyone have experience with this?
How do I prove how much money is on my bank account?
I intend on bringing quite a bit of cash but I'd rather not show that in the open.
Do they really make you show this?
Do you really need a retour ticket?
Seems very unpractical.
Is it even possible to buy a ticket that has a year in between flights?

@ bastian.
The key is do not get nervous.

To prove your money you can just carry a copy of your bank statement.
I am not sure with your WHV if you need a return ticket, depend for how long is your permit valid. (for tourist people it is 100% sure they need the return ticket.)
One thing I learned about the interviews is. Do not answer anything extra if they do not ask you. (because sometimes if you say something else that "else" allow them to start a new question, and never ends. you know what I mean.) :)
Good luck!.

Thx for your answer bbggliz.
I have nothing to hide and I don't intend on staying at all but you just never know with these people.
I'd hate to buy a ticket only to get sent back.

just be polite and courteous if you are asked any questions. if you've nothing to hide you've nothing to worry about.

present your letter of introduction and the border services officer will issue the permit.

as regards return flights, yes you can book them a year in advance. they probably won't ask you for it but you might find it's not that much more expensive than a one way. so it could be worth your while. you can change your date later on if you're not sure of it now.

Bank statement is fine. You must declare any amount over $10,000 that you bring into Canada. You don't have to provide a return ticket. You should get travel health insurance for at least 3 months.
