Hi Guys,

I have a question of how to go back to Canada.
I was a student in Canada from 2006 to 2010( with work permit) but I left right after i completed my degree there. I didnt apply any open work permit (What a stupid==)

Now I want to go back for work, so anyway I can do? Am I still eligible to apply an open work permit after all these year? Plus am I count as a CEC?

Plus how long does the LMIA usually need to take for? My husband's potential company applied one for him at 5 months ago, just know they charged the fee but no more update until now.

Anyone who has experience with the LMIA here?

Thank you very much !!

FIRST THING ! ! YOU ARE IN WRONG THREAD, YOU SHOULD POST IT RIGHT HERE http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/foreign-workers-b10.0/

EVEN THOUGH I'LL GIVE ANSWERS TO ALL YOUR QUESTIONS

(What a stupid==) YES, YOU ARE

YOU CAN NOT APPLY FOR WORK PERMIT NOW, DOORS ARE CLOSED ! !

LMIA = IMPOSSIBLE, NOBODY KNOWS HOW THEY ASSESS THE EACH CASE. BUT IT TAKES AGES ! ! AND THE OUTCOME IS ALWAYS UNEXPECTED, EVEN PEOPLE WHO GOT LMIA EVEN THEY CAN NOT ANSWER HOW THEY GOT, AND PEOPLE WHO HAVE REJECTED THEY DON'T KNOW WHY THEY GOT REJECTED ! !

Lol.
I think you need to post in the other forum.
I'm not sure what your work experience is like, but maybe you can apply as a foreign skilled worker. Good luck x

No - you are no longer eligible for an open work permit. It's too late. You needed to apply within 90 days of finishing your program.
No - you don't qualify for CEC. To qualify, you needed to obtain a year of full time Canadian work experience after finishing your degree.

Hi Qez ,

U can still apply for open work permit just u have to take a another course in Canada again ,

Dave

Consider the previous education experience null in terms of getting work permit. You will have to study again and the duration of this new program will determine the duration of work permit (I know cause I have been through the same)..
The benefit you have is that you have Canadian undergrad degree which will give you good points for CEC plus u will not have to go through the entire equivalency process.. If you wanna study again, I suggest do a masters program instead of 1 year PG certificate. Express entry is currently not too kind for people with 1 year of wp.. Perhaps have a masters so u qualify for PNP which gives you the best chance to them become PR
