Hi

My name is Mohammed. I am working as Designer in Canada.I applied CEC ON 22nd June 2013 still waiting for AOR.

I am from India and I want to get married to my relative's daughter in pakistan. As everybody know how tough is India Pakistan visa can i do Phone Marriage as phone marriage is legal in pakistan and add my GF in CEC?By doing phone marriage my gf will get marriage certificate and they will send it here to sign it and then she can apply for new passport with my name.

I donot know how to proceed.I am thinking if i get my PR and want to sponser her waiting time is 24 months may be more.I donot want to wait as we already being engaged from 3 years.

So please tell me its TOUGH to prove Phone marriage authantic or not. I know peaple who did phone marriage from pakistan to sponser their wife to canada.

Seniours please help or any body who gone through same kind of situation

I'd be more concerned with the fact that you're marrying your relative's daughter who I presume would also be your relative?

You know what they say about assumptions............

there are a number of scenarios that would account for marrying a relatives daughter without actually being related to them.

Sure, they're adopted or stepkids. Still classified as relatives, which I'm quite certain wouldn't be viewed too favorably by CIC

This is the law in Canada, if it's legal here and the country you get married in it won't be an issue.

persons related by consanguinity, affinity or adoption are not prohibited from marrying each other by reason only of their relationship, but no person shall marry another person if they are related lineally.

A lot of people have a very extended view of what is considered "relatives". He could be referring to his third cousin's stepdaughter, his step-grandfather's nephew-in-law's daughter, his uncle's wife's sister's daughter etc.

As said above, you shouldn't make assumptions.
