Exceeded Processing Time

Hello Everyone,

I applied from Riyadh-Saudi Arabia via VFS on 22nd of March 2015..The normal processing time is 4 weeks, its been 5 weeks and still no response yet. I contacted the embassy about this issue and they just replied that its still under processing..the problem is that my classes are commencing from 4th of may. This is my second time applying, first time was done online and was refused because of my travel history. Help of any kind will be appreciated..

There's really nothing you can do but wait. Not all applications are processed within the posted processing times. Given it's almost May - it's quite possible CIC may ask you to obtain a letter from your school giving permission to defer your studies to September.

Thanks for ur response...unfortunately i havent informed them about my start dates..should i mail and inform them?? also i found some stuff really contradicting on their website, when applying online and paper method differ alot.

Totally agree! Online is way slower than offline. Its been over the avg time for me, I do understand it varies from case to case. I just deferred the admission for the next intake.

I have applied in March 19th 2015 through VFS... IN ECUADOR the stimated time is also supposed to be 4 weeks... It has been almost 7 weeks and nothing... Sent them an email and they said that they have received my documents and that my application is still been processed... Nothing to do but wait I think... LUCKILY I am in for the September intake...

You can apply for extension from college you can get that for next 2 weeks to buy more time.I am sure you don't wanna wait till sept because CIC took too long to reply you back.That what i did with my brothes application he is coming to canada next week.

Any updates on your application?

I, too, am waiting for a response. Although I applied for a TRV my travel dates are coming up real soon. I started my application process back in April and they asked for my passport around mid-May. Seeing how it's been 3 weeks since they were submitted I am not sure what to think. There's nothing but waiting here. I know contacting the Embassy is an option but they will just reply with the generic message that your application is still under process. That is why I am curious to know if and and when you got your visa. It will give a realistic processing time. Even though everyone's application is different.

Anyone else apply for a visitor's visa from Riyadh lately?

If your travel dates are coming up, should you just postpone and lose money? OR contact the Embassy and mention that you're coming up real close to your travel dates and what is the situation. Personally I would only want to contact them if absolutely necessary. What do you guys think?

I applied for the study permit more than 3 months ago and haven't got the approval yet!! I already postponed my summer semester and still waiting. Every time I send them emails since April 6th they replay back the same email. " We have not yet received the necessary clearances to finalize your application." Now I am looking for a way to contact the responsible department for the security clearances.
