it s very hard this waiting time and its endless ..

they started viewing our application in damacus in january 12 and we got the interview today ..

and now we r waiting , i thought that maybe they will tell him that he has been accepted and he will go for the visa after but no :S :(((( nothing we have to wait again

its killing us and the money that we spent on phones ,other than calling card i dont know why he didnt see all the other proof
but with my original application i send like 100 pictures with my mom and his familly
,we didnt do a big wedding so i had only pictures from the pothograph ....

i am really scared to think that after just 40 min an agent can decide our future .

my husband was calm and the agent was serious nothing much , my husband answered to all the questions and he just missed the date of my first marriage and the agent ask him the date of my divorce and he has the good answer .. that it all the other questions were good ..

the questions were like

How we met
how old i am birth date .
were do i live
were do my parents live
what do i do for work
where did i study
who is living with me
how we talk on together
if on the internet how coz i dont writte arabic .
when she got married first
when she got divorced
does she have kids
when she arrived to lebanon
where did she stayed in lebanon
when did she leave
there is an age difference beetwen u , she were married before and have a kid , how do u see that
are ur parents ok with that .
does she have any bother and sister
how many brother and sister u have

that is most of it my husband just got back from syria and if he tells me more i will be glad to help u

if someone have some answer for me too plz help me i am worried , this wait is breaking my nerves ..

tx and good luck for all of u nchalla ..

Did they ask for his passport? It sounds like a successful interview. Don't worry and we are all praying for you. Believe me we all know how you feel :)

Hey 04102008,
I will tell some of my story, so after that you will feel good,
I am waiting since 14 month. I filled first in Buffalo cause I was living with my husband in the USA on visitor visa, when expired, I returned Lebanon and the file transferred to Damascus, took 6 month to reach Damascus , from sep 2008 till January 2009. I am now in Lebanon, my husband in USA, waiting, hopefully we are in the last stage...
when we first filled the application, I didn't even know how to write or pronounce immigration, now after spending 9 month in Lebanon doing nothing, I serf the internet and the forum for almost 7 or 10 hour per day, I guess I know some stuff taken from other people experience.
I will tell you my opinion in your case, from what I have understood from your post:
There are 4 red flag in your case: Age difference, language difference, you are divorced, you have a kid, are you from the same religion?
Even that you see these as normal, the officer doesn't, I am sure it is a genuine marriage, but officer see it from other angle.
I guess they don't give always a response after the interview, sometime they do..That is the problem, there is no general rule, and each case is different.
Did you send wedding picture, honeymoon, emails...
Wish you all the best, and each time I pray for myself, I pray for each couple on these forum..(Specially Lebanese..:) )

people, PLEASE stop judging based on "your experince" you are making other applicants worried when they have nothing to worry about, you dont know how an IO will judge the application, NOBODY is refused because of age differnce or because of religion difference, they are refused because they have LIED somewhere in the application.

an IO doesnt "plan" in advance to refuse someone, but some cases are a clear fraud or doesnt make any sense, go read the appeals at canlii.org, you'll see most ppl who are refused at interviews are when they dont know the basic info about their sponor's life in canada or about their sponsor's history, others are refused because they contradicted them selves many times, or because their answers were different from what was on the forms.

it doesnt matter if u didnt do a wedding aslong as u have a valid excuse,it doesnt matter if u didnt go to a honeymoon if u have a valid excuse,NOTHING ALONE can cause a refusal, if u have logical and honest excuse for a certain issue they WILL understand.

this is simple: lie and expect to be refused, be totally honest and you will be approved.

We all stressed out at this stage. All I believe in if it meant to be it will be and if not than I'll go through the long process. If an IO can't read between the lines than they shouldn't be an IO from the first place. I won't put my life in other peoples hands to tell me if my marriage is genuine or not based only on informations or documents that I had provided in the past

hi every one

to respond to u rorita i just have 2 flags as u say : one is the age difference , if its a problem and the second one is that i was married b4 if it s a problem , i am lebanese too , we have the same religion , i speak arabic very well but i dont read or writte because i wasnt born in lebanon and all of my study was in french ...
my husband and i talked about the age difference at the biginning and we soon realized that it is just numbers , i was married b4 , i am not the first one or the last one to be divorced , who is telling us that we r going to be with the same person for ever , just god knows .... so u see i have an open mind , my husband understand that and we know each other since 2006 and our love is still growing .. in my heart and in god eyes i know that my love is true and my marriage is a marriage of love .....

for boncuk , yes they did ask to see his passport but they didnt keep it , my husband lives in lebanon so maybe if they want to put the visa they will ask him to go to the canadian ambassy in beirut ..

tx for all ur respond and i will be glad to read u again ..

nchalla all of us will have the visa ...

Hello 04102008

Sorry for my post yesterday, maybe it was hard or something like this, but All that i said is from stuff that I was reading over this forum and other forum for the last 9 month.
I know age isn't a problem, my husband is older than me by 10 years, my dad is older than my mom by 13 years...but I don't know why immigration make it a big deal. specialy if the women is older..even in canada they still think like this..???
concerning ex marriage, as you said , only God knows our future, so everyone might meet the wrong person and marry him as a lifetime partner.
it is good that you are from the same religion, even that it isn't a problem in lebanon, lot of people I know are married from other than their religion, after all we are 3.5 million person in lebanon with 18 religion...
so what i was trying to tell you is what I knew from serfing this forum over 9 month, going into 10 month now, cause you are a new member
I hope the best for you and your husband, as i pray for all the couple on this forum, cause being away from your loved one is like having your hand and legs cut off from your body, at least that what i feel.
I am sorry again, I hope i can help you in something else.

Hello dentistusa
As I understand from you, you are on a temporary student visa in USA,
I guess before applying thru Buffalo, you should make sure that you have a legal status for 1 full year in the USA; otherwise, I guess it is best that you apply from your home country or the office responsible for your country.
I applied first in buffalo, because I was there on a visitor visa for 9 month, my husband is Lebanese Canadian living in USA, our lawyer said that I will be done before my visa expire, but we didn't. He kept telling us don't worry, if your file isn't over before your visa expires, I will send an extension to your visa, I can do it a last minute, don't worry...
Before 1 week of the visa expire, I got a letter from buffalo saying that they will transfer my file to Damascus, since my legal status in USA is finish, and the lawyer said that he can't make extension anymore.
returned to Lebanon in august 2008, my file took 6 month to be transferred to Damascus, cause as we assume, someone forget to send it.
Damascus received my file in January 2009, and start processing....
my advice for you, make some research before filling, and make sure that you are 100% of everything...I wish we did some research and didn't totaly count on the lawyer, anyway you can send me private message if you like, and I will try to help as much as i know.
