Hi guys, I'm trying for express entry and my profile turns out ineligible each time I try to apply.

I have just completed my PhD at a Swiss university. We are employed (41 hours per week) for the duration of our PhD and get a decent salary. We are required to assist courses each semester while working on our research.

So here are the details:

Education: PhD
Age: 34
Work experience: 6 years TA/RA (NOC: 4012, 41 hours per week) + 2 years before the PhD and masters (NOC 2171).
Seeking Employment as: 2173 Software engineers and designers
IELTS = Listening 9.0, Reading 7.0, Writing 7.5, Speaking 8.5
Money > 40k CAD

Any clues why I'm getting rejected?
Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I have no Canadian education or work experience.

PHD: Switzerland, Masters: England, Bachelors: Pakistan

Have you been employed full time over the course of 12 months?

Yes, My PhD and TA/RA'ship just ended in June.

EDIT: Meaning I've been employed on full time basis for the past 6.5 years.
P.S. Thanks for replying.

Are you sure there were no breaks in between?

Yes, zero breaks. I've been employed full-time as Teaching and Research Assistant for the past 6.5 years.

Isn't work experience obtained while being a student ineligible to fulfill the work experience quota?

You might be confusing this with CEC criteria

make sure you obey the follwoing
1- You must work full time for 12 consecutive months.
2- you can't work before bachelor degree. You can work during Masters and PhD for NOC4012.
3- have occurred within the ten years preceding the date of their application for permanent residence; and
not be in an occupation that has been designated as a restricted occupation.

You seem to satisfy all of them. Therefore, it might be your English/French results.

That's very strange. It appears it should be eligible. How old are your IELTS scores?

No French test. IELTS = Listening 9.0, Reading 7.0, Writing 7.5, Speaking 8.5

I have no clue what's going on.

The language results are very good. I suspect that somewhere you have to indicate that your NOC4012 experience were gained while you were NOT doing full time studies. I remember there is some questions like "did you do full time studies while working"? You need to check NO.

CIC define full time studies as having classes >=12 hours per week. As PhD students you can easily shown that you were not taking that many classes per week with your transcript.

By the way, you can only choose one primary NOC code. Since you have more 4012 hours, you may use this one.
