Does anyone know then if fswp may 2014 will take place or not?

I hope so as I'm getting my paperwork sorted for it now.

No - no one knows for certain. However there is certainly a very good chance CIC will not re-open the program until 2015.

You will have to wait until CIC makes and official announcement.

Australian system is fast, can't say the same about Canadian one.
It will become slow, as always.

I think this will make people shift focus to Australia as they make faster decisions on EOI.
CIC will forever be slow even on EOI......

I'm googling everywhere online, but with no further information about fswp 2014 or eoi 2015.

I am really stuck now on what to do.

My ECA is processing and I have my IELTS test booked for next month. The IELTS results is only accepted on it's first year even though it is valid for 2 years (which is annoying).

What should i do?? Should I postpone the test till there is an announcement?

Also, it sounds like EOI is harder to get then the FSWP. is that correct?

yup it's the same here in australia, where the higher your points is the higher chances you will have to be invited to apply, EOI is more or less like a resume you will submit to a employer, and the employer(immigration) will choose which candidates will be chosen... you can't apply for PR without the invitation from the immgration, so it will be harder to get an invitation if your score is just so-so

We are waiting for the EOI because my husband couldnt apply as a system analyst under the FSW. In Australia no one can apply over the age of 50.
If they copy that, no one over 50 can apply for EOI including us....
How are the chances they will copy this?

Lets say you are in this pool and a Canadian employer want to hire you. How fast can you start your new job? Can you get something like a bridge visa?
I doubt employers want to wait for a year for you to come to canada?

I copied this from the skill select website

Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189)
Features

This visa is for points-tested skilled workers who are not sponsored by an employer or family member or nominated by a state or territory government.

It allows you to live and work in Australia as a permanent resident.
Requirements

You might be eligible to apply for this visa if invited. When we sent your letter of invitation, you must also have:

nominated an occupation that is on the relevant skilled occupation list
obtained a suitable skills assessment for that occupation
not yet turned 50 years of age
achieved the score specified in your letter of invitation based on the factors in the points test
at least competent English.

I wonder if they will copy this. For the FSW you could apply over the age of 50, just didnt get points for your age.
Our dream to go back to Canada, after we have lived and worked there for 10 years until 2009 would be over then...

are you sure there wont be any FSWP 2014?

Sir

I believe so , as minister has already stated in 2013 that FSWP 2013 is a test case to test new rules , that will apply in full force wef Jan 1 ,2015.

Stay Blessed

I doubt that. There are many people that couldnt apply under FSWP because the reduced the occupation list. The list will probably be longer for EOI.

Do not stop any thing , all views expressed by members on this forum are personal.
CIC will clarify all new policies in April 2014
