Entry Visa India

Hello everyone,

I am looking for inputs from people in the Vancouver, British Columbia jurisdiction. I have my travel plans around 9th dec.

1. I got my OCI acknowledgement on Oct 26. What is the expected timeline post this for Vancouver, British Columbia?
2. Should I apply for Entry visa to be sure- based on actual experience, how long is it taking for Entry visa in vancouver/ surrey? (BTW I called BLS Surrey - she said it is taking 30 days for Entry Visa in Vancouver and 7-10 days for Ottawa/Toronto). Do we have a tracker for Vancouver entry visa?

BLS website status: No records found
India Visa website status: Under process
Any idea whether my application reached consulate or still with BLS ?

For Passport delivery from BLS do we receive email or it will be update on BLS website?
Do any one have information on this?

Because yesterday BLS told me that now there is no update on BLS website because of current issue on my application but i will receive Visa within this week

Normally on the BLS website you get message "Ready for Collection". No emails.
In your case, you may have to go and check if its not getting updated. 3 - 4.30 pm is there pickup time.

I have a small question regarding place of birth having different spellings on canadian passport and indian passport. Do i need an affidavit mentioning both spellings are for one place for entry visa application? For entry visa application, they don't ask for indian passport. Does anyone have experience with this?

Normally on the BLS website you get message "Ready for Collection". No emails.
In your case, you may have to go and check if its not getting updated. 3 - 4.30 pm is there pickup time.

Sorry one more query what do you think that I think Consulate will update there process updates on Visa Website or not ?
Because currently it is showing Under processing

If you are applying by mail and not including Indian passport copy, this should be fine -- no affidavit needed. But if you walk-in its likely that BLS agent will ask for a copy of old Indian passport and that start finding mismatches (depends on their mood and your luck) -- that's how they are. You can get away by not providing the Indian passport or copy (as its not really needed if you have SC) but it could take some persistence for them to accept.

HCI only 12th is a holiday. Should be same for Consulate too.

Yeah i am planning to apply in person. So its seems more safe to have an affidavit just in case. Thank you.

First, you will get an email from cspm-ivfrt@nic.in not from BLS
BLS status updates: (i) in transit to CGI (ii) processing at CGI
Visa site update: (i) under process (ii) under processing (iiI) granted (iv) printed

Thank you very much for your help. Yes I got the email from that ID. BLS statu update still says " under process". So does not look like it has been sent to CGI yet ! Sigh.

Have to see if there is any progress today with our applications today. Not sure what pace I can expect here.
