Entry Visa for visiting India - Can I apply with receipt of submission of Surrender of Indian Passport

My surrender certificate status certificate is printed. Entry visa is still in process at CGI.

Just got notification, the cancelled passport is also on its way. Has been picked up by Purolator by BLS.

I want to apply for Entry Visa for my new born daughter as OCI may take time and we booked tickets to travel in March'2022.

Could you please advise how it would be process to apply for Single Entry Visa and time it may take.

I am applying for my passport surrender certificate in Vancouver jurisdiction.
@warriorprince or anyone with experience in submitting surrender certificate applications at Surrey or Vancouver, please help me with the following.

Documents I have -
1) Online app form
2) Indian passport (original and one copy of first and last page)
3) Canadian passport (one copy of the first page)
4) COPR (copy)
5) Citizenship certificate (copy)
6) Address proof (copy)
7) One photo
8) Fee 129.40 (cash or debit)
9) Checklist

- Am I missing something for the supporting documents?
- Do we need to upload a digital photo?
- Do we need to upload any supporting documents from the above list?
- Any requirement for the documents to be attested or self-attested?
- If we need to upload any docs, then what format or file size it should be?
- I don't see any place to upload anything while preparing my online form (not submitted yet).

Please suggest if there is anything I missed or I need to be careful about.

All looks good. Just take the originals along with the copies. Additionally, if you are married, you will also need marriage certificate. I had to take a photograph at BLS as the agent said it did not match the specifications (although it did as per instructions provided).

Okay, I will keep my marriage certificate with the set.

So we don't need to upload anything (photo and supporting docs) and there is no requirement for the self-attestation of the copies. Right?
I was getting different inputs from Toronto applicants that is why I want to double-check.

@warriorprince - Hi, i see that you had some great luck in getting your Entry visa's on time. I actually applied too on dec 31st at BLS Calgary and even till today, the status says - ' Under Process - In Transit from BLS Centre to Consulat General" . its surprising that its taking alomost 3 weeks for the application to reach the consulate itself. What do you think might be going wrong here? When i Call BLS, they say, they cannot comment on anything. Any iputs would be really helpful. thanks!!

Next question: can I get evisa before I receive my surrender certificate ..

What happens I go to India with e visa and my husband brings my oci booklet later so I can extend my stay in India without extending e visa

Please help

Basically need to go to India in March and have ceremony on Feb 1st .. so trying to see my options here ..

I applied for passport surrender and entry visa in BLS Brampton on 23 Dec.
Picked up my Entry Visa on Dec 4. Its 6 months Dec till June. Multiple entry. Visa type is X-1.

Also, can I apply in Toronto location or I need to go to brampton to submit both of these together. I need visa soon as travel date is Mar 3. Is there any location which is faster than other?

I did apply for them together in Brampton BLS couple of months back. Entry visa came in days. Surrender certificate in one month.
