Entry Visa for visiting India - Can I apply with receipt of submission of Surrender of Indian Passport

I am new to this group.
Just confirming can I apply for surrender certificate and entry visa together?
further, one of requirements for entry visa is copy of surrender Indian passport since we are applying both application together what we do here ?

Picked up my Entry Visa on Dec 4. Its 6 months Dec till June. Multiple entry. Visa type is X-1.

No such letter is required. Documents required

1. Signed Filled Application Form
2. Photo (51 mm by 51 mm)
3. Proof of address (Canadian Driving License will work)
4. Old Indian Passport (Original and Photocopy)
5. Canadian Passport (Original and Photocopy)

Thats it.

Depends on when you get your citizenship certificate. That's the variable here.

Once you have the citizenship certificate, you can apply for a passport (Express Mode) and get it in less than 9 business days.

Once you have a passport, you can submit for surrender + Visa application ASAP. Visa processing shouldn't take more than 2 weeks. You do NOT have to wait for your surrender application to get processed as long as you have someone who can collect your surrender certificate when it arrives by mail. Submit your application at BLS Brampton!

How did you track your surrender certifcate at PP Seva Site? For me it says, enter a valid file number.

I use the same number which i am using on BLS tracking, on BLS it says "Processing at consulate general.

You'll have to login to the site and check status. Checking it from the home page won't work.

Applied for entry visa on Jan 10th at BLS Vancouver.
Both passport surrender and entry visa applications were submitted at the same time.

I had originally intended to apply for Tourist Visa but was told Entry Visa is faster and tourist visas are taking longer.

Just an update, bls status changed to “in transit from consulate” Jan 12.
passport surrender status changed on Jan 12 to “surrender certificate has been printed”.

What are you saying that status for passport surrender on BLS site showing certificate printed within 2 days??

No, BLS site does not provide any details. I provided status available on PassportSeva after logging in.
Purolator picked up today, so should receive it soon and confirm what has been returned back. I am not sure if they have shipped the cancelled Indian passport along with the Entry Visa.

2. Can we still do it via mail or it’s only done via in person drop off.

Purolator picked up today, so should receive it soon and confirm what has been returned back. I am not sure if they have shipped the cancelled Indian passport along with the Entry Visa.

Only the Visa came in today. Seems like the surrender certificate will take its own sweet time. Hope this helps.

My surrender certificate status certificate is printed. Entry visa is still in process at CGI.
