hello,

We are planning to apply the citizenship in the early 2019. We have started preparing.

For the English language test, is it a Must to sit CLB? Can we sit IELTS too?

A friend of mine told us that, we would not need to re-sit. An old IELTS test result is good enough. is it true? Thanks!

Best,
D

Yes, old IELTS will work.

yes, you can use an old test if it is not academic and if you used it for the PR

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/language-step-2.asp
  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS), general training (not the academic version) must have scores of:
    • 4.0 or higher in speaking and
    • 4.5 or higher in listening (if the test was done before November 28, 2008, we will accept a 4 or higher)

<snip>
If so, send a copy of your test results with your citizenship application, even if the results have expired. >>>>>>>
