Hi guys,

I have three employment records in my express entry application. For the recent 2 records I can provide official reference letters and the duration of these two together is 3 years. For the third one however I cannot provide an up-to-date reference letter, because the company is no longer active. What I have is a letter I got in 2008 listing the work I did there but without other details and a new letter from the ex-CEO confirming that I worked for them and a couple items of work I did. So considering this, should I put this third record in my application with a letter of explanation or get rid of it?

Thank you.

If you are getting points for the third experience, it will be better to put it and submit what all documents you have along with an LOE stating the status of the company and why u cant get a reference letter

I have exactly the same situation. I have 3 years and 3 days with two employers who can provide employer letter. The third employer shove 3 years, they are not in the business any more, no stamp, no letterhead. So I am going to remove the 3 rd one from my work history and put it into the personal history due to we can not claim extra points after 3 years.

Hi Sandra,
This is not correct !!

You will need 6 years to claim maximum points for your PR criteria. 3 years are only for getting maximum CRS scores.

Good luck !

I don't get what you mean.
In the CRS calculator we can get points for foreign work experience, the max is for "3 years or more."
What does maximum PR criteria mean? Why I missed that information?

I got it now. I am in CEC, 3 years is the maximum foreign experience which I can points for.
FSW- to get more points from 100,they have to proof 6 years.
You mean that, right?
I should have asked which program Rsk is in.

That's right !
Total score is 67 so for max points one need to prove 6 years of experience.

In earlier post you asked me "Why I missed that information"...
:) Hard for me to answer that. I was looking CIC website that why Sandra would miss that information but there seems no information about this :).. Perhaps CSE to CIC will answer that !!

Thank you for your effort:)))
I am in CEC, I feel everything else is working logically but FSW seems including 2 steps which is confusing a lot.
Anyway thank you so much for your correction.

Hi guys,

I'm a little confused here. I'm not CEC. What do you mean by 6 year or 9 years for maximum score? Could you please point me to some page which these details? Thanks very much.

Thank you Faraz. It looks like I don't need maximum for that and I can pass 67 with only 3 years.
Perfect ! I am happy for you..
Reading posts I can see that Normally people would ignore this 67 score system completely !
Good luck !

Thanks Faraz. Since I had put the third job in express entry profile and I'm deleting it now in the eAPR, do you think I should explain the reason in a letter of explanation or it's not needed?

A more general question is if you change things in eAPR so that it accidentally affect your CRS score, will you be notified before final submission or only when it's too late?

Two points to consider:
-- If you are deleting 3rd job, and it does not affect your CRS score I would still explain that in a letter of explanation using one liner: "I am deleting my job 3 as it is difficult for me to secure experience letter for this job. Moreover, I am taking this action as my CRS score is not affected by doing so... "
-- If deleting this affects your CRS then of course you will mention this in Letter of Explanation but you will tell them the reason for taking this action. Now if doing so, reduces your CRS score and the score becomes less than the cutoff score of the draw when you were invited then your application will be refused. If lower CRS is still above the cutoff score or same, they will continue with your application with no problem.

--- If your score is affected or not you can check this by hitting "preview my score" just before getting the personlaized checklist of documents to be uploaded as shown below

good luck

Thanks for your prompt answer. These are great points. I was actually not aware that if your CRS score is decreased but still above the cut-off they don't mind. To me, they mind everything :)

I cannot see that recalculation of CRS before uploading section and the picture you posted does not seem to be working for me.
