Hey,
I'm applying to sponsor my partner for a common law sponsorship.

I had a job from January 2019 but in mid March, my work was put on hold due to the Coronavirus. And I've been receiving CERB payments since then. Right now they haven't let me know when I'll be able to work again. And the company has gone into debt, they told the employers they may not be able to stay afloat or may start laying people off.

Also my tax returns in 2019 were very low income. I've never been on social assistance. How can I fulfill the employment income requirement for employers letter?

My partner who I'm sponsoring earns more money than me, he's self-employed. I understand I need to show that I can support my partners basic needs. I plan on finding another job if I do get laid off.

What documents can I provide? My common law partners income (what kind of documents)? Support document from my parents saying they will support me?

Thank you

Sponsor you spouse if he/she single status is no minimum income to filling. But you must have the note of assessment in 2019 or recently check last 3 months or letter note from your employer. The income required is for sponsor your parents or relatives.

Since my work has been on hold because of the pandemic, what should the letter from my employer say? Thanks
Submit your note of assessment 2019.
If you’re not working. But you can provide it’s later. If you’re are working. Download example letter from google fixed some words and filled your name and the company name , address, phone and the manager or boss, he or she will signature. There no minimum income to sponsor spouse or common-law.
During this time government accepted all applicants unless any filling wrong or missing signature on form they return. If you hire lawyers it’s much easy. Do you self much harder and take a lots times. My recommend hired lawyers. Better than wrongly.

You don't need to hire a lawyer. If you research correctly you can do it yourself. Are you able to get a letter of employment from your job? I cant remember if it was required to submit both a letter of employment and NOA. If not then just attach your most recent notice of assessment form and write an explanation stating that you are out of work temporarily receving cerb etc. His employability will be also taken into consideration as well,

Yep, I’m able to get a letter from work, I’m just curious what it should include? Because I’m not currently working because of the Coronavirus but will be going back to work once they reopen.

Would also consider looking for other job oppoerunities. Sounds like that your employer may not be hiring everyone back. If you have savings as well as CERB you should be fine.

Yep I will consider, would I also provide a letter saying I’m looking for other work in case my work doesn’t hire me back. Should I include my resume or something?
