Employment in Canada

I have applied for registration with Ontario College of Teachers. They issued me a letter based on which I can seek employment in Canada. I’m still outside the country and waiting to be called to submit any more documents to finalize the visa process. I have sent the letter to the embassy. It seems the letter didn’t have any positive impact on my case.


Questions:

Does the letter make it any difference as what the outcome of my application would be?
How can I use the letter to land a job from outside Canada?
Or, do I really stand a chance to do so?
Apart from the teachers’ employment websites, which I am roughly familiar with the major ones, are there any organization and bodies I can seek employment assistance from?

Chances are very slim that you will find a teaching job before you land in Canada. My wife is in the same boat as you. Even after you land in Canada, it will take you some time to get a teaching position. There are jobs for teachers, and for most Canadians who have graduated, they often have to work in smaller towns for their first few years.

Coming from outside of Canada, you lack personal connections, which plays a bog part in finding a position. Maybe you should look at going to a Canadian university for a year to gain a specialization. This would help to make more contacts and also make your C/V look more impressive.

Thanks for your response. I assume I can work part time when I'm taking courses at a university. What do you think?

BTW, are you in Canada at the moment or outside?

If you are successful in your immigration based on your qualifications, then you can go to university and work as you wish.

I've been in South Korea for 12 years and my Korean wife is a qualified teacher. We plan to move to Canada soon, but I think my wife should spend some time creating more skills.

Are you immigrating under a skilled worker program?

Yes, I have applied as skilled worker, the only category I could apply through.

I keep my fingers crossed I can find someone who can offer me a job.
