Hi All,
In order to show 1 year of Exp(Full Time) i have to give company written letter, which unfortunately my company does not provide for PR applicants. How should i deal with this situation.??

I am planning to show all my salary slips(which has start date and end date) and my T4 form.

Please suggest the best way out on this...!!

Thanks.

Hello,
First of all, never disclose to a company that it is for PR purposes, you can use any other reason - for most companies in Canada, they want to have nothing to do with anyone's PR.So, there is no need to disclose this.

You have all the paystubs - GREAT! You will need to send those.

Speak to your HR and try to get a reference letter with your duties and responsibilities, do not mention that it is for your PR!

Ashish,
Reference letter is the most imp. requirement under CEC. You have no choice but to get one from your employer. Without this, you do not hold any ground. Paystubs are additional docs to be submitted along with the reference letter, they are not standalone.
Without reference letter, your CEC application is a sure shot rejection 100%.

Hey guys, I was wondering why do most companies avoid this? I don't see how it could hurt them? So why wouldn't they want to help out someone that is working for them. Makes no sense to me.

The first sensible thing any new Permanent Resident will do is quit the present company (as a temporary worker) and scout for a better paying job (as a PR). No employer will encourage this.
Whatever said and done, temporary workers are always paid less in comparison.

Not at all. I was making more than some Canadians in the same job. It had nothing to do with status, it had to do with when I joined the company.

if they are not giving you letter ask your HR to give you job description, draft a letter yourself and get it signed by your supervisor , its simple.

Hi Ashish ,

I have been through this situation and my application was denied . I had the employment letter but my employer denied to write my duties and i was still rejected. There are few people who wrote an explanation letter to CIC and got approved but your chances are 1%. I had to change my job and reapply .Employment letter is the most important document on your file and CIC is very strict about it .

I completely agree with Vijay and Sab.

We need to stop insulting or writing condescending replies to other's posts. You don't know what it is like to be someone else. You have no idea what it is like to be someone else!!!!

I am a lot like Ashish, I worry about the smallest things. I am sure all of us do. I have known so many people on this forum who have applied or are applying for their PR and are scared as shit! and worried and you know what, this is completely natural and normal.

Like Vijay says, don't be a part of the conversation and ignore the thread and please don't justify your actions, its pathetic!

Try picking on people like us and you will meet more than your match. Please leave Ashish alone!

Thanks

Ashish - If you are certain that you won't get the proper reference letter for your duties, here is one option that you can try. Please keep this in mind that these measures are not full-proof and you can still be rejected without the reference letter.

I am assuming that you are not able to procure the duties part only in the letter from your employer. Everything else (job title, benefits, hours etc.) are covered in your employer letter.

Let's try!

1. List down all your job duties/resp, and match them with your WPs job title. Research the HRSDC site for that particular NOC to use keywords from the site to frame your duties.
2. Send a mail to HRSDC with the job duties and ask for NOC. This is just reverse engineering to get HRSDC blessings in your application. They generally get back in a weeks’ time.
3. Get references from colleagues or clients for your duties. I would say that more than one letter will strengthen your case (have seen successful cases). Make sure that the letters cover contact information of the referees.
4. When you send the application, attach the letter from HRSDC, client/colleague ref letter along with the employer provided reference letter.
Best of luck! :)

great idea JBLoknath!!

I am pretty sure that the employer has to give a Employment Letter.. legally.. which might not cover all the aspects requested in a Reference Letter but at least it'll cover some of them. Then provide further documents to prove remaining aspects.

That being said I know its not an easy situation you are in Ashish and will require a unique approach but dont get disappointed, keep chasing your goal.

Cheers

No, the employer doesn't legally have to give you an employment outlining your duties.
