No, you need one from the Canadian operation as CIC wants to know what your job duties were in Canada.

Hi,
My employer letter (from india) will have job duties that i performed in canada... Do you still think that letter from canada hr is required?

Yes,

It is your work experience in Canada that counts, not the one in India, even if it is for the same employer and for the same job.

you will need a letter from your Canadian employer only.

Sorry for asking the same again..

My employer letter will have following..
1. Duration worked in Canada
2. No of hours worked per week in canada
3. Job duties performed in canada..

The only difference is, the letter will be given by India HR. I am getting this letter from india since because i am currently working in india branch for the same employer..
The reason i am stressing here is, I may not get letter from canada HR as they are not suppose to give such letters for PR purpose..

You do not have a choice. If you submit the letter from India HR, your application will be certainly rejected.

You will have to get a Reference (Employment) Letter from your Canadian employer conforming to the details listed in Item (10) of the checklist > http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5610E.pdf

I am giving you alternate option if it can help..

1) One of the my friend did not mentioned job letter while applying PR due to some company is not ready to provide those kind of letters. Hence friend submitted with providing clarification letter to CIC, such as pay-letter, T4 which mentioned your company as well ,and bank statements as well as when you landed to Canada that time Canadian company supposed to provide offer letter including your NOC code, role, pay rate, hours etc... So you could submit those kind of letters as proof.
As a result, Friend got the PR as well.

Better you have only one year to submit file after left Canada then submit whatever you have.

2) if you are applicable then You could get the letter from client/customer where you worked.

Hi Andy,
In the checklist document,it is not mentioned that address in the letter should be canada address..

It does indicate that it should be signed by your supervisor, which would be your supervisor from your Canadian job. It also indicates that the reference letter should be on a company letterhead, and include the address, phone number, website, etc. of the company, which would also be the Canadian location you were at before you moved to India.

Is there any reason why they won't provide you this letter? It is a simple HR letter, and there shouldn't be any issues if you are working within the same company.

When you have to evidence Canadian experience, it is self explanatory that the letter of reference should come from the Canadian employer.
From the other way, you need to submit Reference / Employment letter from the Canadian employer who pays you salary in CAD and issues a T4 statement. Does your Indian employer pay your salary in CAD ? or issue the T4 ?

Hi,

Try to get letter from Canadian Company .otherwise there is no option for you other than submitting from the Indian HR letter ..

i am agree withe answer given by CEC_2013 .

Hi All,
I am going to submit the below documents also along with the employer letter given by Indian HR..

1.Offer letter given by my employer at the time of traveling to canada first time... salary is in CAD
2. All paystubs provided by canada employer(it proves that i worked 40 hours a week).
3.3 years T4 forms
4. Tax assessment documents provided by CRA.
5.reference letters provided by my canada friends/ collegues
6.Employer letter provided by my canada employer at the time of applying for work permit second time. This leter has my job duties also but it is 1 year old document
7.employer letter provided by my indian employer (here my canada emplyer and india emplyer are same but the letter head has different addresses)

Do you think my case strong enough to approve it?

You need the reference letter from you supervisor. it does not matter whether he sits in India or Canada.

In my case I was working onsite in canada and my company did not have any physical presence in Canada
My supervisor was in Bangalore India.
I got the reference letter from my supervisor ( signed by him) in India.
I think we need to indicate correctly all the details and CIC should not have any problem.

I have got my AOR so i am hoping that they accepted my reference letter for now.
