Dear all, I am a new member in this forum. I am from Vietnam. Currently, my cousin in Canada sponsored me over to work as a live-in caregiver. I have applied for the visa and they are processing my files. However, there are some questions that i have been searching for the answers and I hope you can help me I really appreciate your kindness:
1. If I get the visa, normally how many months can i stay in my country before leaving for Canada?
2. About applying for PR, do I have to apply for PR while i am inside canada or can I apply outside Canada? My contract is 2 years so after 2 years i have to leave Canada how can I apply for PR?
3, I have the intention of going to a university in canada after 2 years of being a live-in caregiver and apply for PR as well. Is this possible?
I hope you can help me in this because i am very confused right now! Thanks a lot my dear!

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
1. The visa is usually tied with the medical results expiration or the background check expiration or in most case within a year which ever comes first on the expiry date. The visa cover letter will tell you until when you can stay in Vietnam.

2. After completing 2 years or 3900 hours of your contract you will apply INLAND for your OWP and PR. You dont need to leave Canada because you have implied status while processing your papers. Be sure also that your TRV is current and have not yet expired. I would not suggest going out of Canada while your PR/OWP are being processed.

3. You cannot attend school under an OWP. It is one of the conditions. You can attend any school more than six months if you are already a PR or you have applied for a study permit separately.

Hi there! I have one more question again. Am I troublesome? I hope you can help me! Can I apply for study permit and PR at the same time? Because I want to study at a university while my PR is processing. I have looked for this information on CIC website but i cannot find any clue! Thank you so much!

When you submit your PR/OWP you would still be working as a live in caregiver till you receive your OWP. Once you have your OWP you can apply for the Study Permit but you'd be paying International Student rates. While working as a live in caregiver, you can take short term courses (courses not leading to a degree). Your WP would contain the instructions on what you can not do

Is Medical Test the last step to take before receiving the visa? Do I have to take any interviews? And about the experiences i haven't heard anything from them about this! Now I have an appointment for health check-up. :(

Yes, meds then passport request. Probably no interview needed. Did you have a 6 month caregiver training certificate or are you a nurse or a graduate of a medical allied course (PT,OT ...)?

Hi there! I don't have any proof about tanking care of people. But i wrote in the application that i worked for an employer for 1 year about taking care of baby! And then i haven't heard anything from the embassy! :(. BTW, job_seeker, are you also a live-in caregiver? You seem to know a lot about this! I am really impressed. Where can you find all those information? :)

Google is my best friend :) The officer processing your application will look for proof that you qualify for the job. A certification from your supposed employer and proof that you have been paid for doing the job is needed.
