Hi,
I just recently submitted my application for spouse sponsorship and my husband just did his medical examination.
I would like to know if applying for ei can affect my on going application because I would be out of work for a few weeks.
Thanks

It will not but it is important to show you are employed or have means of support so you won't need to depend on the government to get your application approved.

But i got a letter said that i met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor... so it means the application is approve? Or the immigration will still do a further investigation on my eligibility as a sponsor?
Thanks

some say going on EI does not affect your spouse sponsorship app, personally from my own experience i think going on EI does delay the app process. in one of my gcms note, the notes stated 'RECOMMEND welfare check if interview to be waive'. i have already been approval as a sponsor, my app has been in process since may 23, 2017

You are fine to go on EI. You don't need to inform IRCC and it will not have any effect on your app.
