Reminder:

From Tomorrow those PR who have traveled a lot during the last 4 years and were not able to accumulate 3 years of physical presence in the last 4 years, All of you can count your physical days in the last 6 years.

This is a big relief and it gives much more flexibility.

What if half the time of the past 6 years was on a temporary status?

So, finally, this long tiring debate will be coming to in effect, only question which is still confusing me, pre-PR time? Will we still get credit for that or not?
I haven't read anywhere where they declare of pre-PR time?

Temporary status means time before PR status. So the answer is: No, you will not be able to claim your days as temporary status towards citizenship qualification.

You won't get credit of any Pre-PR Days.

Here is the link for it. http://news.gc.ca/web/article-en.do?nid=985219

Before • Time as a non-permanent resident (non-PR) may be counted toward residence for citizenship

After • Eliminates use of time spent in Canada as a non-permanent resident (non-PR) for most applicants (in effect June 11, 2015)

Sounds like you haven't read any of the CIC site info...

Zero credit for pre-PR time. This is extremely clear in the new rules and is one of the changes (vs. old rules).

This thread have turned into something else.

Now the law is implemented, everyone has to follow it, whether they like it or not.

Many people like had reservations on certain clauses that hurted them directly such as Pre-PR time & increasing length of duration. There are many people who wanted to be a citizen ASAP due to one or the other reason. In my personal case, it will take 2.5 more years due to new law but I have accepted that and moved on. Only complaint was that the rules were changed in the mid-game, but that's part of life.
As democratic country, it is full right of an individual to express his views and thoughts on a specific matter and specially when it impacts them. C-51 is a recent example.
Irrespective of every thing, let's not create hatred against the country and love it since we are here by choice :)

In my case the new rules are only beneficial, because now the days can be counted from the last 6 years.

With the old rules I would be always few weeks short of physical presence and therefore never eligible to apply due to my extensive traveling abroad.

Same with me since I travel a lot ( 60 flights last year ). However Pre-PR time hurted me big time. But it is not about individuals, its about overall impact. 4/6 is easier than 3/4

Exactly,
4/6 is giving much more flexibility to travel. ;)

2 hours left of 3/4 rule. After that, it will be 4/6 rule. Yes I know it is tomorrow but the office closes at 5pm, Atlantic Time today. Once it is closed, it will be 4/6 rule when they reopen tomorrow.

I would say... "FINALLY" the good days for those who travel a lot are finally here. ;)

I want to test properly the online calculator tomorrow.

I want to know that Bill c24 will be apply who will come in Canada after 7/1/2015 or it will apply who already in Canada have not yet applied for Citizenship. I have one family friend who has come to Canada in 2012 but they never stay in Canada because of theirs business in outside of Canada so I want to confirm behalf of him. Also I heard citizenship test will not apply on age of 54 either. does that true or not. I kindly need your solid information.

Thanks
Regards

Hi

Is Bill C 24 already implemented? When?

In about 15 mins. After that the office is closed in Sydney. Once it reopens tomorrow, new rule kick in.
