1. Based on criminal activity: Agreed if convicted, that is evidence in itself for revocation, so there will a judicial process
2. Based on fraud: No due process. The person affected will have to file a federal appeal on his/her own expense, moreover the Federal court is not bound to listen
3. Based on Intent to Reside: I know, the law as it is, does not impact the naturalized Canadians. But sooner or later, there is scope for new provisions to be added. Revocations then under this will also be without due process.

Do you think that, after one or two years there will be more than 1 million Canadians left without their citizenship being revoked?

So they will take my Canadian citizenship, because I will continue to have my long vacations abroad.
Well not a big deal for me, they can't take my Finland citizenship.
I can still come here and trade for 6 months per visit without even a work permit.

Don't worry.
The problem is that there are many unrealistic rumours about this Law, just to scare those who are coming from the 3rd world countries.
This law will fix a lot of problems with the current outdated citizenship system.

They cannot do that.After spending 5 years in xxx maybe you`ll move back to Canada and open up a business.

Maybe John is going to sell all properties he has in Russia and will move back to Canada after 6 years.How can the Minister know that John will not move back to Canada? There`ll be thousands of people.Statisticallly,guessing one`s action is impossible without any clue.

Maybe Henri will move to France,work there for 2 years for an American company,get married after 3 years,and move back to Canada later on maybe 9 years later.How can the Minister put a limit to Henri`s plans? Who the hell is the Minister by the way? A king?

the Tories`plans might work only when you are PR.Once you get that passport,the world is yours,brother.

With the fast track new system the intend to reside until the oath is just a formal clause, because the process will be much faster and efficient.

Sure I can understand the paranoia at the beginning of his government. But you still have that after 10 years?

I haven't seen any secret agendas that was spewed in the beginning of Tories government that ever came to being during the entire decade.

By the way indeed when some of my Scandinavian friends come here in Canada it is also shocking for them to see so much dominant presence of people coming from Asia.

1. Majority of Canadians supporting the bill are infact are turning tired of the newcomers. They have been open about it when it comes to TFWs. The laggard growth is the killer. More job creation needed. Hence the support.

2. Even some of the PRs support the bill for the reason as firstly that would make them happy knowing they moved in time when the rules were easier, and the bozos back home who are coming now got left behind. Secondly, if the rules get stiffer, these same people will be able to show off their passports knowing its now difficult for others in their home country to get to become a Canadian.

Ex. Many Asian PRs (specifically) were to eager to point out to their friends that they qualified under old fee regime, and their stupid friends applying/qualifying late will have to pay more fees.

Also as far as i can tell, screech you are a South Asian, so you should probably know!

If you check the history, Tories put a ban on Asian immigration. Liberals under Lester Pearson openend immigrations to Asians.

If you find too many Asians, you are living in the wrong neighborhood.
