Is there a chance that the new rules come into effect on November 14,2015?

There is a chance that the new rules will be delayed or enforced earlier so from current point I am not going to be surprised if in that date the rules will be the same like now.
They still don't give information when the cut off date will be.

It is absolutely inexcuseable that they cannot give us an exact date (or even month) when Bill C-24 will come into force. Not sure what they hope to gain from keeping us all in the dark. Some of the Bill was enforced on Royal Assent, so if they can start part of it, they surely know when other certain procedures will come into force. It can't be rocket science!!!

What if they still got no idea as of when the cut off date will be?

It is really strange to hear so many speculations witch are in a 6 months range.

Weeks and months are rolling by and no information from them.

Maybe they have internal organisational problems and that's why they keep the cut off date on hold.

I am sure that they will give the exact date for the bill by one or two months before that date. they cannot start it suddenly.

I think that there are really good chances for the cut off date to be enforced earlier or to be procrastinated.

We all remember how the minister said @ the beginning of the year that he is hoping that the bill will become a law by the end of the year... and we all remember the rush from them to make it a law before the summer brake.

An example for procrastination is the cut off date for the changes of the age for the dependent children... first it was set for 1 January and then they decided it will be 1st of August.

So we can expect everything from them.

FYI guys, I called the CIC today and the agent said effective date is June 19th, Next year. Just 1 year after the Royal Assent. He said it is a confirmed date and sent me the CIC issued statement from June 19, 2014 which we already read a few months ago.

I called the CIC one more time just minutes ago. This time it was a different agent. She said the effective date is going to be June 19th, 2015. That's she knows about it so far.

I also tried to contact CIC agent several times a little while ago, but the system didn't transfer me to an agent telling that they are experiencing a high call volume. I'll try tomorrow again.

I think that the question we should start to ask them is ... When they will announce the real cut off date with official statement?

If the cut off date is already decided they should say it officially.

Rocco Galati's petition in Ontario Supreme Court against Bill C-24 has it's hearing coming on Oct 23rd.

Any ideas what could come out of this?
