Hi,

Could anybody tell me if somebody abandon the application could that effect his PR status in Canada? If somebody abandon the application and if he/she can still continue to live in Canada as a PR?

Abandoning a citizenship application has no effect on your PR status. They are many people who choose not to apply for citizenship and keep renewing PR.

I appreciate your response. But you are referring to people who never apply for Citizenship. What if you apply for Citizenship and then abandon it? Does it affect your PR status if you abandon the Citizenship application?

Citizenship process has no bearing on your PR status, whether you abandoned or kept the citizenship application process through.

Once you apply you have aright to with draw your application any time but before
decision made... you will loose fees of your application which you have paid and
you will be surely get RQ when you apply next time ???? this is my personal
experience..... and you rest assure that if you have no reason other than you have
not completed resident requirements than let the application move and
be a citizen ?

Janoo,

Your personal experience? Did you mean you withdrew your application once?

Not necessary; I applied in 2006 and got refused in 2007 for residency concerns.
Applied again in 2014 and this time granted without any RQ or any questions asked at interview.
In between I renewed twice my PR, again without RQ or additional requests.
