Hi all,
I ended up becoming ineligible for EE when I changed my NOC code from 4214 to 5133 and I'm strongly guessing that I did not enter any experience with this new NOC. That said I understand I will have to re-create a new EE profile. I have a few questions which I was hoping someone will answer as I don't intend to have this profile ineligible as well.
1. I graduated with music as my specialization and have been working as a music teacher at the kindergarten level. Based on my research, it appears that NOC 4214 (which I probably qualify under) is a regulated profession in most states. In most cases, to apply for a license the applicant must be a resident of that province (which I'm not currently). Are there are any provinces where this NOC (4214) is not regulated or the licensing body allows remote/international applications? Am I using the correct NOC (5133 vs 4214)?
2. I also work as a freelance voiceover artist for several years. Do you think I should probably apply this profession? The only downside I see is that I don't have any employment contracts/offers from my clients (studios) as this was purely freelancing work for single projects. I can provide letters on official letterheads stating my body of work with the said studio (and can double this up as a reference letter). From what I have found, BC has this 5133 NOC regulated (not strictly though).
3. When I use the 'Welcome to Canada' tool I select 'Work for myself as a farmer, sportsperson or artist' and deemed eligible. Is this the correct way to go, or should I use 'Find a permanent job in Canada' as the option?
4. What are the chances of getting employment in Canada as an Indian classical music teacher or voice-over artist? I'm fluent in the 2 national languages in my country however struggle slightly with English.
I'm unsure which will be the better approach - as a music teacher or a freelance artist. I personally would prefer a non-regulated profession if I can help that since I know my CRS will be ~390-400 and not more. I have not yet created my second profile as I want to this a thought before I created my 2nd one. On the personal side, my spouse is getting ready for proof of funds however he is ineligible for EE. We have narrowed down the provinces we would like to live in to Ontario and British Columbia.
Thank you in advance for your answers! Have a lovely day everyone!
