If you work permit expired before decision is made you can extend your stay as visitor. When you get pnp approved, you can apply for closed work permit.

Thanks. We want to continue working so my immigration consultant will apply for a C10 - Significant Benefit application for a work permit so that should buy me some time under implied work status. (Don’t want to switch to visitor status haha)
