Hi,

I have been working in the company for a year and 4 month and now planning to apply for EE bc pnp(already have EE profile created and activated). I don't see this requirement in the checklist but my friend says that my company still has to advertise my job online, preferably on Job Bank for at least two weeks. Is this true? I'm not sure if he has mixed it up with lmo application...

Many thanks!!

I applied for BC PNP and this is the first time I hear that.
There is the "Job Offer Form" which requires the employer to enter details about the "4. Recruitment Summary" but it says nothing about minimum requirements.

Yes I had another agent clarified and it is not needed. Below is an extract from the pnp Eligible Employers website. Since I have a valid work permit so job advertisement is not required.

Meet domestic labour market recruitment requirements.

Subject to verification, the PNP will consider this requirement to be met if:

1. Your employee has obtained a valid work permit from Citizenship and Immigration Canada and is currently working for you,
OR
2. You have provided evidence of a genuine effort to recruit from the domestic labour market and are able to demonstrate the results of your recruitment efforts, including advertisements based on the following minimum requirements:
• For Skill Level 0 or A jobs (based on the National Occupational Classification) ◦ Recruitment advertisement must be for at least 14 days.

For the "Number of current vacancies in this type of position" question from the Job Offer Information section, did you put down zero? For my case I think it is since they are not hiring anymore.. Do you agree?

Very much appreciated!!

We put something >0 in there because we're still looking for people. If your company is not hiring for that position anymore then 0 sounds right.

They don't know yet (http://www.welcomebc.ca/Immigrate/About-the-BC-PNP/The-BC-PNP-Introduction/About-the-BC-PNP/Processing-Times.aspx). The last time I asked I got a very vague answer that it might be less than 6 months.

It would be excellent if it is less than 6 months but cannot take those words until it's updated on the website.

Just FYI here is my BC PNP timeline:

Jan 16: Dropped complete application package off at PNP office
Feb 04: Acknowledgement of Receipt
Feb 17: Application has been approved for nomination, acceptance of nomination in EE profile, 600 points awarded for nomination

All done in a month, not bad at all!

(applause for the thread)

Here's my case:

I've been working in Toronto for a year now on PGWP just to find that only a job offer would not help to get 600 points. It has to be LMIA approved.
At first I thought of moving to BC, look for a job and apply for BC PNP for 600 points, but the checklist shows a list of forms/letters required from BC employer which I'm not sure is easy to obtain. I feel the red ones below would be difficult while green would be easy.

1. Job offer form - It's a three page form that requires details of the company and why you wanted to hire somebody on PGWP and not a Canadian
2. Recommendation letter from employer: The supporting B.C. employer must submit a recommendation letter on behalf of the nominee applicant. This letter should outline why the employer is recommending the nominee applicant for permanent residence, why he or she is suitable for the position, and how he or she would contribute to the company.
3. A copy of the offer of employment
4. Detailed job description
5. Company information
6. A copy of the Certificate of Incorporation
7. A copy of the valid B.C. Business License

What do you think guys, shall I make a move?

Your help would be appreciated
Thanks,

Toben, in which Category did you apply??

I did not know you could drop it off in person; I live like 3 blocks away from the Georgia office!!!

I just sent mine yesterday and it arrived today.
I applied under EE BC PNP - Skilled Worker

Thanks for sharing, Toben!
