What CIC agents are responding back contradicts with what CIC has on this page: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=363&top=5

According to this, we should be getting oath invite within six months after passing the exam. Thoughts?

I think it's a fair question to wonder which timeline takes precedence when 6 months from DM is earlier than 12 months past AOR. In my mind, the 6 months should do, but you can well imagine it gives them wiggle room.

Just got Oath invite via email. It will be on 01 May at Canada place : Edmonton.

I got DM on 01 Feb.

Hi I asked this question last week. I was told it will take max 2 hours including document checks before oath etc..

Sat the test in Edmonton today and passed only for the immigration agent to tell me that she can't make a decision on my application because she is still waiting on some security checks. She explained that this is nothing to worry about and just a formality but i'm curious if anyone else has had the same answer. When questioned she replied, "we just need to make sure that you haven't committed any crimes in other counties since you've been in Canada."

I'm a British born citizen who has been in Canada for the last 5 years so i'm curious as to what other security checks she is waiting on.

Has anyone had any experience with the time frame?

I passed my test on Jan 25th and had the same experience. still waiting for DM.

I had oath on Tuesday afternoon. I applied for passport on Friday Morning. No problem.

Hi guys, finally, I received my oath for May 1 in Edmonton. Quick question, according to CIC, the oath is scheduled at 1:30 yet my letter states that my oath is at 12:30. Does anyone know why?

The time in the letter is when you have to be at the office. The actual oath will take place at 1:30. The hour difference is for the time you need to register, surrender your PR card, find your seat etc..

Test invite : Jan 09, 2018
Test/Interview : Jand 26, 2018
still in process

the officer told me that they are waiting for my security clearance and they can't tell how long is it gonna take. its been 3 month and nothing yet. is this normal? I have a sense that most people who applied in Oct are already invited for oath. I'm getting worried.
