Hi gcctocanada,

good to hear that you will be moving to Edmonton, the weather is really nice here these days it even goes upto 14-15 degrees in the afternoon which is unusual for this time of the year (thats what people says). I am new here too and trying to get used to this cold whether but at the same time where ever I go people warn me saying it will be really cold in winters when the temp will dip to even -40 degrees. Hope you bringing loads of warm cloths with you.

Rest I wish you a safe and smooth journey to your dream land.

"WELCOME TO CANADA"

Thanks
Arvind

Dear Friends

I am new to the forum and want to have your valuable advice for my real concern.
I have landed Calgary in last week of June 2013 and returned back to my home country within 35 days without receiving PR card. I have received my SIN and health card on same Calgary mail box (relative address) whereas PR card still awaited. Its almost four months passed...
By exploring cic website, following options are available:

If you live inside Canada and if it has been longer than the time shown above since you applied, please contact the Call Centre. (1-888-242 2100)

Or

mail/fax pdf document (IMM 5451) SOLEMN DECLARATION CONCERNING A PERMANENT RESIDENT CARD THAT WAS LOST, STOLEN, DESTROYED OR NEVER RECEIVED

Your guidance is requested in order to take what further actions required or still have to wait silently.

Anxiously waiting for your response and thanking you in advance.

Regards

Call the same No. from Voip, or skype... Select the immigration department to talk with.

Keep ur file info handy, and u will get the clear picture.....

I did the same...

Dear All forum members,

I am planning to move to Alberta in May'14. All i am concerned is: -

1. My baby is just 4 months old and by May, she'll be 10 months. Weather wise Alberta is too cold, so would it be a good option to choose Alberta for my child's perspective.
2. About job opportunties: - I am having 7+ years of experience in accounting and i cleared M.Com from India. So, are there oppportunities in this field.
3. Benefits provided to immigrants: - Please provide what all benefits are provided to PR holder.

Many thanks,
Anubhav

Info shared by all @ edmonton is helpful.

Everyone has diff. opinion.

Ur baby has nothing to do with cold. so do not worry.

Job wise...AB is good in jobs...smart search will be need. But you are in accounting so you need to upgrade. Do research on it before you land.
