Hello!
Quick question, can't find a definite answer and don't want to screw up the mycic application.

I have an ielts result in hand. I have a non canadian degree and haven't got the ECA yet.

I want to know if an ECA is mandatory for completing the application process, or whether it is just for getting additional points to increase eligibility.

Guidance and a firm answer would be much appreciated

If you are applying under FSW then ECA is mandatory
If you are applying under CEC then it is your choice (helps boosting score)

Yes and no.

If you have an LMIA, you probably don't need it, if you qualify for the CEC class.

If you want FSW class, you need it.

Yes it is a points boost, but is a requirement for FSW class.

Lmia is basically a work permit right?

So I have no Lmia or work/study experience in Canada. Yeah, I am planning to apply under the skilled worker program.

Bummer, I guess that means I have to get the ECA before submitting the app.

What happens if I do submit now? Does it get rejected, wait listed or do I get blacklisted as someone who doesn't meet requirements?

You can set up your express entry profile. It determines what you are eligible for, you do not pick whether it's FSW or CEC.

You will be ineligible for a FSW application until then.

LMIA is a closed work permit.

If you do not have any study or work experience in Canada then you fall under FSW
ECA is mandatory in this case. Usually takes around 2-3 weeks to get it processed.

If you submit it without ECA then it will not even be considered for PNP

The requirement is Candaian Degree or ECA for a foreign degree. Degree is a MUST for PNP
