ECA: Two or more certificates, diplomas or degrees

Hello,

I am starting my ECA this week. I am wondering whether I qualify for this category "
Two or more certificates, diplomas or degrees" when I have below qualifications

DIPLOMA IN TELECOMMUNICATION AND COMPUTER ENGINEERING (2yrs & 6 months Program)
Started: 08/2008 and ended 09/2011 (I did extra one semester due to failing some subjects)

BACHELOR OF ENGINEERING IN ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING (3 years Program)
Started: 09/2011 and ended 07/2013 (got exempted from first year due to earlier diploma)

I am confused because from other posts I got indication that the diploma must be after the bachelor to qualify for this category.

Kindly let me know.

depends on the university and how wes evaluates your degrees against canadian system. you can take the test on the wes site to get an idea

You need to wait for the ECA report to be sure.

I know I need to wait for ECA report but I am curious really. I wonder if anyone was in similar situation and would love to know the outcome.

My main concern is if you do diploma and degree but your diploma was done earlier, would it count as "two or more certificates" category?

It will be considered in "two or more certificates" category as one of the program is 3 years long. However, since you got exempted, then you are playing a luck here. all the best.

Great thank you. Regarding exemption, I hope it's not an issue. If they are really concern of the actual years i did take to finish then I did do the Diploma three years instead of the actual 2 years and 6 months.

Regardless, to praying to allah i get this category as I really need the points.

It is better to quote the individual's post for notification purposes.

Yes, I qualified for that category.

I got my ECA report last week, and I got the following equivalency:

Diploma (Two Years)
Bachelor's Degree (Four Years)

I created my EE profile and received two or more certificates category.

I have done 3 year diploma in computer Engineering and 3 year Bachelor's degree in computer engineering from India. Originally, it is a 4 year duration course but due to diploma we get exemption in first year.
Not sure as many sources say it qualifies for bachelors and not for two or more certificates.

For my Diploma: I did in Malaysia. University is called KDU University College.

For my Degree: I did also in Malaysia and the same University. However, KDU has partnership with Northumbria University in Newcastle, UK. Hence, the degree and transcript were actually awarded by the UK university. It was only 3 years Bachelor's degree and I got exempted from the first year due to my diploma; I was quite surprised when they gave equivalency of four years of Canada.

It is not surprising. When you select Level of education in your EE & PR Application you would see "Bachelors degree OR 3 years long program", here they used "OR"; that means any bachelors degree irrespective of its duration which is Canadian equivalent will give you equal points. Any UK bachelors degree with honours from a listed UK university is equivalent to Canadian bachelors degree (four years). I have attended only the final year at my UK university (was awarded a bechelor degree) yet I got Canadian equivalency (four years).

Can i evaluate both in WES and then claim points under "two or more certificates" category?
these degrees are completely different (economist and teacher) - so does it matter or not? do these degrees must be under the same specialization?

I am doing PGD in IT to increase my CRS Score, my last degree is 4 years BS(Management & IT) -
Now in PGD (IT) almost 5 courses are similar to my Degree program out of 12. will it be a problem when i send my PGD for ECA?
